WARNING: SERIOUS self-harm, blood!

Yoohyeon sighs, picking at the food in front of her with her chopsticks. She is currently sitting in her parents' flat, having dinner with them while Pie is playing with her toys in the living room area.

"Yoohyeonie, are you not hungry? You've barely eaten anything," her mother points out, voice laced with concern. Yoohyeon smiles reassuringly.

"I'm okay, I just had a big lunch outside," she lies straight through her teeth, like every day. Better lie than make them concerned.

In reality, she just wasn't thinking about food. How could she, when there was this one, incredibly special woman roaming her mind 24/7?

Will she even be able to move on from this? From her? Yoohyeon has no idea, so far, it doesn't look very promising. She supposes she has to try regardless.

Her father's question brings her out of her thoughts: "When do you plan on transfering?"

Right. The new nearby college she is supposed to transfer to. She doesn't feel ready to let that one go yet, though. She's not ready to let HER go fully.

"I...was thinking of finishing at least this semester there. The classes are practically finished, I just gotta get through the exams," Yoohyeon explains, content with her excuse.

Her father also seems to be content, nodding in understanding. However, her mom's question shakes her up a bit:

"How come you suddenly decided to come back to us? You said you met someone special there."

Yoohyeon gulps. She knew this question would show up eventually, but she never managed to think of a lie good enough to cover this up.

So she just sighs. "Uhm, yeah...I met this girl that I really like...I care about her very much... But we...said goodbye. After breaking up..." She sniffs quietly, hoping her parents didn't notice.

"Why? You seem very upset about it. You don't seem happy here, with us," her mom points out.

Her parents are a bit sad that their daughter has distanced herself from them, but it's just the way life works. If she is ready to go, they need to let her go.

Yoohyeon gulps. She really doesn't want to be having this conversation right now, but she doesn't see a way around it, either.

"Well, I...I still care about her. But we had a huge disagreement. I'm not sure I can go back," she explains in as much detail as she can without saying anything weird or out of the ordinary.

Her dad chuckles slightly, and Yoohyeon perks up in confusion. "Oh, if your mother and I were to get a penny for every disagreement we've had so far, we'd be able to buy Jeju."

Her mother laughs good-naturedly, agreeing with her father. "That's right, but we always managed to settle it eventually. That's how love works, Yoohyeonie. If you two want to stay together, you need to be willing to make little sacrifices for each other."

Oh, if only it were just LITTLE sacrifices, Yoohyeon would be over the moon. How does one go about dealing with their partner trying to top themselves? Now that is the real question.

Obviously, her parents will hear nothing about it. She just smiles at them, making sure to mix in a hint of gratefulness. "Thanks mom, dad."

They smile, and afterwards, they all pick up their chopsticks, resuming their dinner in silence.

Siyeon sighs in frustration as she watches her bestie ruin another punching bag. How does she even manage to get away with it every damn time? It's beyond her understanding.
