Yoohyeon clutches her phone tightly, pressing her thumb to the screen to unlock it.
She checks the last message she sent to Siyeon.
You: Please text me when you find her. Tell me if she's okay or not.
She sent that text yesterday, and she's still waiting for a response, checking her phone every couple of minutes.
What if something went wrong? What if she doesn't return? The thought scares Yoohyeon tremendously.
And the silence from the other end is sickening, Yoohyeon keeps thinking that she should be there right now.
And yet, she cannot. The image of Jiu lying dead in front of her is still fresh in her mind from last time. It doesn't matter that she came back, it's still imprinted inside her mind, the stupid fear of loss.
She checks her phone again. "Grh, damn it!" She smacks the wall her bed is situated next to with her hand, frustration taking a hold of her.
"Damn it, Ji, why did you have to do this?!..."
Great, now she's talking to herself. No, even worse: she's talking to her ex, who is currently literally out of this world, pretty much as far away from Yoohyeon as she can be.
Brrrr brrrr
Yoohyeon almost falls off her bed upon hearing the familiar buzz of her phone. She picks up immediately, standing up and pacing around the room anxiously.
"Sua unnie! Is everything alright?"
"Hey, Yoohyeonie...it's nice hearing you again."
"...you didn't answer my question, Sua unnie...what happened?"
"Yoohyeonie, she...she's not coming back..."
The call goes dead as the blonde's phone slips out of her grasp, making contact with the wooden floor. And she soon follows.

"Ngh," Jiu grunts, running her hand across her hurt nape. She was so focused on the two women in front of her, she paid no attention to her surroundings, for which she scolds herself internally.
She realizes she's lying on a bed, a very soft one at that, and as she opens her eyes she notices another presence in the room.
One of the girls from before, Yuqi, is loudly snoring, sprawled across a fancy-looking chair made of red velvet enrobed in black.
As she looks around, she notices the entire room and all of the furniture in it is coloured and decorated in a similar manner.
Is she seriously in Satan's home right now? How did she get herself into a situation like this? By looking pretty?
She curses under her breath, tip-toeing towards the window after making sure the noise didn't disturb Yuqi's sleep. The girl is still knocked out, much to Jiu's relief.
She tries twisting the catch, and it does move. Good, the windows aren't locked. She twists the other catch and pushes the window up, looking outside.
Her mouth opens in a silent gasp. Satan's palace, or whatever this place is, is located on a piece of land sitting between two fierce, gigantic black rivers.
Well, that doesn't matter. She'll have to find a way to get away from here. She climbs outside, quietly pulling the window back down, before jumping off its outer edge.
She lands without any difficulties, and starts making her way across the rocky island towards one of the rivers. She glances back for a moment.
The intimidating, goth-style palace is looming over her, its tallest towers going almost as high up as the enormous fire bringing light to this dark land, the land that has never seen the light of Sun.
