Nate and Y/n were both well liked in school. Everyone was shocked when they started going out. Y/n was outgoing and 'spunky' as a mom might say. Nate was her older brother's best friend. They also hung out with some of the same people. Nate wasn't 'spunky' he was quiet, and calm, while y/n was everything but.

Having very little middle ground can lead to disagreements. Not on morals or large things, more like what movie to watch, or what to do for a date. While y/n wants to watch 'Dazed and Confused,' Nate would rather watch 'Spider Man No Way Home.' Or when y/n wants to go do something, Nate would rather stay home. When y/n wants Cajun food, Nate would rather have sushi.

"I don't want to watch marvel movies for the 82973617th time." Y/n said rolling her eyes. "Well I don't want to watch some dumb 80's movie, that nobodies even heard of!" Nate spat out. "I'm going to bed then." Y/n said back. She was a hothead, and was leaving before she said anything truly hurtful.

Everyone around them thought they fought quite a bit. Which is inherently true, but it was never big, they just were individuals. Nate loves being close to her, and she's flattered, but she'd rather not be touched. When he has a shitty day she'll hug him or hold him, but otherwise she said "hell no." Meaning when she got mad and walked away what was he to do? She hates being touched, she'd be mad I went somewhere without telling her this late? How is he supposed to apologize??

He decided to just go in her room and kiss her. Then roll over beside her. He did just that, y/n giving him a 'wtf' look. She ended up rolling over and lying on his chest, making it a strange but successful apology from both. Well before they fell asleep that is.
