Y/n POV
I plopped on the couch as an exhausted sigh escaped my mouth.

Today was full of troublesome. I imagined my first day of college to be amazing but because of that annoyingly handsome boy it got ruined.

But one thing that was troubling me was the way he looked at me in cafeteria when an anonymous girl was leaned over him.

Was she his girlfriend?

Even if she was, why did he look at me like that as if he was extremely guilty of something, instead of kissing her.

Argh! Jeon Jungkook is so freaking confusing!

Anyways I didn't want to ruin my mood more by thinking about him.

I closed my eyes to relax a bit but just after few seconds my phone rang making me groan in annoyance.

I picked it from the table and saw it's my mother.

"Great. Now my day is gonna be more amazing." I said with sarcasm and rolled my eyes before answering the call.

"Hello?" A cold voice was heard from the other side of the phone making the chills run down my spine.

"Yes, mom?" I answered tiredly.

"Get ready in evening till 7:00 p.m. We have a business party to attend. I'll message you the address so be on time and wear something decent." She ordered coldly causing me to sigh.

"Okay. I'll be the-" I got cut off as she hung up the call.

I looked at the screen and sighed before tossing it beside me.

I leaned back on the couch as a drop of tear escaped my eyes. I stared blankly at the ceiling. The heavy thickness in the silence of the room started getting overwhelming for me.

I was yearning to hear my mom talking to me nicely. It almost became a part of my dream to see her caring for me.

Ever since my father left us, my mother had been behaving like this. At first I thought it was because of the trauma that my dad gave us but gradually she became more cold and rude towards me that she started abusing me. Not only mentally but sometimes physically too.

It was as if I had became a stress reliever for her and that she was using me for her own good.

I was only seven years old when dad left us. I don't know why he left us but whenever I asked my mom about that she used to say that he left us for another woman.

But little did I know my dad loved me and my mom more than anything or I was just too naive and little to see his real face.

He never contacted us after that. It somewhere made me believe my mom's word but still I wasn't fully convinced.

For me, my dad was my life and that got snatched away from me. I was just a living puppet now who was dancing on her mom's finger.

I could never dare to oppose my mom otherwise no one could even imagine the kind of consequence I would have to face for that.

The only thing that my mom did right was to send me away from that trapcious and malicious mansion.

But that too on one condition and that was to never disobey her and never fall in love.

The conditions didn't matter to me that much because the only thing I wanted that time was to go away from her.

It had been two months since I shifted here. My college wasn't too far from here so it was the best place I could ever found.

A cozy and small flat on the top floor with a small balcony from where I could see almost the whole city. That was all I needed.

But my mom has a very bad habit of ruining my happiness. She would call me almost everyday to burn down my peace and that too only to invite- sorry to order me to get ready for her so-called business party like she did just now.

I sighed and wiped my tears. I looked at the clock and saw it's already 5:00 p.m.

I should start getting ready now.

I lazily made my way towards my room to change in something decent and good-looking.

Jungkook POV

"Dad, are you serious right now?" I asked frustratingly

"Does it look like I'm joking? Just get ready and come. It's just for few hours." He said while sipping his tea.

"But it's so boring and moreover I have promised my friend that I'll attend his party." I said and looked at my dad in hope that he'll be convinced.

"Hmm..in that case, You just have to call him and deny the idea of party tonight." He teased as my hopes drowned.

"Dad~" I whined making him chuckle.

"Mom, just look at your husband. I still wonder what good you saw in him that you married him." I clinged on my mom's arm as she laughed.

"Hey, you big boy, Your mom can never find a husband like me even in her seven births. And don't forget if I wasn't her husband then you would have never came in this world." He defended himself while I sulked.

"Get ready now. It's already 6 p.m. We have to reach there till
7 p.m." He said and placed his empty tea cup on the table.

"Fine! You and your boring business parties." I said and ran upstairs towards my room.

I fucking hate business parties.
