We had a love so true,
A connection like no other,
You were my first and only,
But now we're worlds apart.
I'll always miss the way you talked,
The way you held my hand,
The way you made me laugh,
The way you held my heart.
I know it had to end,
But my memories won't fade,
I'll hold on to the hope,
That we'll be friends someday.
But for now, my heart's in pieces,
And I'm left with only you,
In a memory that's bittersweet,
As I dream of what could have been.
I dream of a future,
That's no longer meant to be,
But in my mind, it's still alive,
As clear as it could be.
I miss the sound of your voice,
The touch of your hand,
The way you made me feel,
That no one else could understand.
It's not that I don't want to move on,
I know that's what I must do,
But it's hard to let go,
Of the life I had with you.
And even though it's over now,
I'll always carry a part of you,
Deep in my heart and soul,
A piece of you I'll never lose,
That I'll always hold.
A piece of you I'll always keep,
No matter where I go,
You'll always be a part of me,
A part I'll never let go.
And even though it hurts so much,
And tears fill my eyes,
I know I have to keep going,
And learn to say goodbye.
But I'll always remember you,
The way you were with me,
The love we shared,
The memories we'll always hold dear.
And even though it's not the future,
That I hoped it would be,
I know that I'm a better person,
Because of the time we had,
Because of the love we shared,
Because of the memories we made.
And I'll always be grateful,
For the time we had together,
For the lessons I've learned,
And the way you made me feel.
And even though it's not what I wanted,
I know that I'll be okay,
Because you'll always be a part of me,
In a special, beautiful way.
