In the chambers of the city jail, there layed Puss in chains waiting for the arrival of Abu. He was utterly humiliated, confused, and disappointed. For one, he never got caught and now he did. Two, why was Princess Kitty on the loose in a disguise? Three, he thought he had found his soulmate, but it turns out she was way out of his league.

Puss struggled against his chains but he knew it was useless. "She was the princess, I can't believe it, I must have sounded so stupid to her!" He said sadly but at the same time angrily.

"Squeek!" Abu the little rat appeared right of the window seal as Puss's mood brightened up to see him. "Abu! Down here!" the little rat traveled down the wall to his level. "Now common help me out of this!" He whispered. But Abu was defiant, he squealed and squeeked a bunch of jumbled randomness that Puss somehow understood. Abu mocked Kitty's pretty form as he extended an eyelash and outfit position to defend his argument.

Puss laughed. "Heyyyy, she was in trouble, and she was worth it." Puss said dreamily. Abu nearly rolled his eyes but helped Puss get free. "Don't worry Abu, well never see her again." He sighed. "I'm a street rat remember? There's a law." Abu rolled his eyes once more fiddling with the lock.

"She's gotta marry a prince." He added as Abu found the right key.

"She deserves a prince." He said as Abu ignored him and pretended he was amazing. "I'm a fool." Puss said before he heard a strange voice.

"Your only a fool is you give up gato." Said an old scary man in the shadows of the prison. "Who are you?" Asked Puss squinting at him. "A needy prisoner like yerself." He said crouching closer in his dirty stick. "But together, perhaps we can be more... " He said greedily. "Now there's a cave gato, a cave of wonders... " The mischievous man said twiddling his fingers.

"Filled with treasures beyond your mind.. " He said grinning holding his hand out to him showing the glowing rubbies, Abu marveled but Puss wasn't buying it. "Maybe even enough to impress... Your princess." He said smirking a quirky toothy smile.

"Victor can you hurry up! I'm dying in here!" Iago said beneath the torn cloak the Victor wore. Victor furiously hit the bird as he turned back to Puss. "But the law says that only a prince can-" Puss started but Victor interrupted him. "You've heard of the golden rule haven't you?"

"Whoever has the gold makes the rules. " He wheezed in Puss's face showing how absolutely crazy he was. Yet again, Puss still didn't buy it. "So why would you share all this wonderful treasure with me?

"I need a young pair of legs and a strong back to go in after it." He lied. "Uhh one problem, it's out there, were in here?" Puss chuckled. "Mm mm mm, things arnt law has as they seem." Victor cackled as he opened the door way to a secret passage amongst the bricks of the jail walls.

"So, do we have a deal?" Asked Victor holding out his hand.

Abu looked hesitant but they took it. "Deal."

Oh, what there was to come for the both of them.
