February 1st, 2014.

Navy should be making her debut any day now, but Brooklyn's doctor did tell her and Phil that she's not due for about another 2 weeks.

Maternity leave had begun on January 13th. Brooklyn left her most trusted Lieutenant, Derek, to run the precinct while she was gone and would be for the next few months.

Brooklyn trusted Derek because he had good leadership skills, and he played fair when it came to having to issue some responsibility around the precinct.

She was wanting to put his name in for Captain someday when she wouldn't be able to continue as Captain.

She got a text from him one day saying that he was impressed at how good she was at keeping everyone in line then went to explain that Garrett, a good detective but was known to want to have as much fun as possible, was making his life hell. Which made Brooklyn laugh and send back some good luck.

Navy's nursery was almost done, just some organization and a small shelf that was waiting to be delivered that Phil would be putting together when it arrives.

Phil definitely had been put to work with the manual labour of putting together so many things for his baby girl's nursery.

He'd built a crib. Put together Brooklyn's rocking chair and stool. Built 2 dressers, 2 bookshelves. Hung the black out curtains, set up a large piece of wall art that read Nevaeh Victoria in cursive. Set up the car seat and stroller. Hooked up the baby monitor that would face Navy when she's sleeping so him and Brooklyn could check on her.

Just everything. And because he absolutely refused to let Brooklyn do anything physical except eat, drink and sleep.

Navy was doing very well. Very healthy, and had developed a knack for kicking around in what little space she had to move around in. Which wasn't her mama's favourite part of the third trimester.

And on top of that, Brooklyn was looking absolutely gorgeous.

If they—, wait no, not 'if', WHEN she and Phil have more kids, because who are they to stop at 1 (?), every pregnancy was going to be compared to how Navy's was.

Any day now, little girl.

There's people very anxious to meet you.

Of course 3 am was when Navy decided she wanted out.

And when I say 'out', I mean OUT out.

Brooklyn woke up to the feeling of kicking and something popping low in her stomach, then she felt something gush out of her. Fuck.

Shaking Phil awake, Brooklyn did her best to try and sit up, but she quickly felt a contraction starting to which she started taking deep breaths to pass through them easier.

"Phil," She spoke, her voice strained as her husband soon awoke. "Ah..."

Jolting awake, Phil immediately turned towards his wife, and a look of panic fell upon his face. "Is it time?" He asked, helping Brooklyn sit up and wrapping a throw blanket around her shoulders to keep her warm. "Is Navy coming?"

Trying to stay calm and just breathe, Brooklyn nodded as she tightly held onto Phil's hand. "Buckle up, Wenneck.....you're about to become a dad," She managed to speak, her other hand wrapped around her very round stomach.

That's when Phil's panic set in. So much that the second the word 'dad' came out of Brooklyn's mouth, he was already up and throwing on a hoodie and a pair of sweats then helping Brooklyn up from the bed where a large wet spot in the middle of her side and helped her get dressed in one of his other hoodies and pair of sweats.
