Harry sat in the kitchen, looking around to try and find some groceries. The fridge was practically empty, aside from a bunch of water bottles and protein shakes. On top of that there were no pots or pans, cook ware of any kind.
"What the fuck...?" Harry hissed softly. Did these hybrids never eat? Last night Marcus had bought everyone pizza after the show. But now, as Harry was looking around the kitchen, it was becoming clear that nobody cooked.
"There you are." Edwards voice caused Harry to look up.
"Hey." Harry murmured, glancing over at the other snake hybrid.
"What are you doing in the kitchen? Were you hungry? Here." Edward slithered over to the kitchen and grabbed a protein drink. Harry grimaced at the pale white drink.
"Thatsssss not food." Harry informed him, shaking his head. "I wanted to make everyone breakfasssst. Ssssscrambled eggsssss or pancakessss. Ssssomething." He shrugged.
Edward rose an eyebrow. "You can cook?" He asked, cracking open the plastic bottle and slurping down the breakfast drink,
"Yea." Harry nodded. "I love cooking. It makessss me feel like...like I can sssshow people I care about them." He explained. Harry glanced at the drink his twin was holding.
"Doesssss Marcusss make you guys drink thosssse?" Harry asked. Edward shrugged.
"He doesnt MAKE us. Its just easier to practice when you dont have a bunch of junk in your stomach taking up space." Edward shrugged. Harry frowned but didnt say what he was thinking. To him that sounded so backwards.
"Just try one, and then come lift weights with me because Marcus wants you to start performing tonight. Last night you got a break but you need to start earning your keep" Edward said with a smile. Harry nodded and forced a smile back.
This all sounded so miserable.
Harry followed Edward out into the tent. A few of the other hybrids were already warming up. Harry took the opportunity to flex his memory and greet the few people by name.
"Hi Cassssssssidy." He greeted the reindeer hybrid. She turned and waved. She had a long ribbon on a stick, and her deer feet were covered with specially made ballerina shoes. She had long furry legs and a deer tail. As well as two beautifully manicured horns on her head and two floppy deer ears.
"Hey Ryan." Harry waved as he and Edward passed the hyena hybrid. The man was folding himself in half, He was a contortionist.
"Harry." Edward interrupted. "You dont have to greet everyone. We're really not all that close." He shook his head, making his way over to his weight set.
Harry frowned at that. "Thatsss fucking sssad." Harry said, not able to stop himself. Edward turned and looked at him with a cocked brow.
"What?" Edward asked, looking at him with a surprised expression. Harry let out a soft sigh.
"I sssssaid thatssss ssssad." Harry repeated. Edward chuckled and shook his head.
"It really isn't." Edward insisted. "We're basically coworkers. We arent a family or anything. We work together, and thats it" He explained.
Harry shook his head. "Well I'm changing that if I have to sssstay here." He said softly. "At my houssse, we all watched moviesssss, and ate together and we had actual food. And we cared about each other." An idea popped into his head. "We're going to have a movie night tonight."
"No" Edward groaned. "No ones gonna want to have one of those. Everyone kind of does their own thing. Especially after a show." He shook his head. Harry scoffed
