Chapter 13

Harry felt his throat go dry, staring at the man as if he were looking in a mirror.

"My- brother?" He choked out, his head swirling with questions. He forgot about Zayn momentarily, slithering around the other snake hybrid, his eyes wide the more he saw. Edward looked just like him. It was uncanny.

"Your twin." Edward nodded. "Though I guess that's kind of obvious with how we look, hmm?" He offered Harry a smile.

"Harry?" Louis called from the porch. Harry looked up. Louis was staring at the two snake hybrids with a slack mouth. He walked down the stairs and hugged onto Harrys arm. "Whats going on?" He asked softly. Edward looked over Louis and smiled more.

"You got a little human boyfriend? Thats so cute. I usually prefer other hybrids, but hey, who am I to say which is better?" Edward said. For a strange reason, Harry felt a surge of protectiveness wash over him as he watched the way the other snake hybrid looked over Louis.

"Thissss issss Edward." Harry said quietly, wrapping his tail around Louis' middle. "Hesss my brother, I guesss." Harry said, staring at Edward. Edward held out his hand for Louis to shake and as soon as Louis took it, Edward brought the lads hand to his mouth, kissing the top of his knuckles.

"Nice to meet you. Im glad my brother has found someone to make him happy." He said and flashed a smile. Harry narrowed his eyes, swallowing the strange urge to hiss at this man. Harry reached over and pulled Louis' hand back, lacing their fingers together.

"I didnt know you had a brother, Harry." Louis said, looking up at Harry with confused eyes.

"Neither did I." Harry shook his head, keeping his eyes on the other hybrid. Edward looked around.

"Maybe we should go inside and catch up? I'd love to learn about how your life has been." He suggested. Harry couldn't help but notice that he had no lisp. He spoke perfectly.

"That's a great idea, cmon Harry. I want to get to know your brother." Louis agreed, leaning up and kissing Harrys cheek before pulling his tail loose so he could walk back up to the porch. Harry frowned as a human got out of the car, an older gentleman. He gave Harry a look that sent a shiver down his spine, unnerving him.

"I'd like to hear that as well." The human muttered, turning away from Harry and looking to Louis. "The names Marcus. Marcus Klein. I own Edward." He said, following Louis. Harry hurriedly slithered up the stairs, forcing himself not to wince as his tail dragged up the sharp steps. The stairs digging into his soft tummy.

Harry turned expectantly to Edward, waiting to see how Edward handled the stairs. He expected him to do something similar. However, Harrys jaw dropped as he saw Edward coil his tail on top of itself, turning upside down completely and walking using his hands. He walked using his hands in a handstand, carrying himself up the steps then setting himself down on the porch.

"Damn." Louis said quietly. Harry frowned at that, and Louis seemed to notice because he quickly cleared his throat and led the group back inside. Harry slithered into the living room, settling onto the couch. Louis settled beside him, moving his tail momentarily to sit down, then pulling it back on his lap.

Edward did the same on the other couch, and his owner took a seat in the remaining armchair. Zayn sort of paused, rocking on his feet as he looked around, as if he were debating where to sit. Harry opened his mouth to invite Zayn to come sit with him, but Edward spoke first.

"Plenty of room over here, pretty kitten." The other snake hybrid said. Harry felt his eyebrows pop up.

"'Pretty Kitten?'" Harry questioned. Zayns cheeks were flushed as he walked over to the couch, ducking his head a bit and quickly sitting down. Edward pushed his tail over Zayn's lap as Harry had done to Louis. Harry was surprised more that Zayn actually took it, holding onto the end of his tail and looking anywhere but Harrys eye.
