Two months into the fake relationship...

COURTNEY SATELLA
"Court, you know prom is just around the corner, right?" Bridgette grins, playfully punching me in the shoulder.

"Yes, I know." I roll my eyes.

Ever since we got back to school, all Bridgette can talk about is prom. And the fact that she thinks Duncan and I should go together. But not because we're fake-dating, because she wants us to real-date.

Which is something that'll never happen.

"Any special someone you want to ask you?" Heather wiggles her eyebrows and smirks.
"Well, I suppose I have my mind on someone..."
I smile thinking about him.

"OH MY GOD! Please tell me you're thinking of who I'm thinking of!" Bridgette squeals and jumps up and down.

"Dunc-"
"Scott." as I say his name, Bridgette's face immediately falls.
"Please be joking." Gwen closes her diary and looks up at me with disapproval.

"You know I like him! Support me for once, will you?" I frown.

"Fine. But this doesn't mean I'm not still Team Duncan." she furrows her eyebrows.
"There is no 'Team Duncan'." I roll my eyes.

"We'd beg to differ." Gwen smiles as she points to herself and the other girls.

"I don't like him." I roll my eyes.

"Stop being mean." Bridgette whines.

DUNCAN TARUN
"Who are you taking?" Geoff asks Alejandro as he hands him a beer.
We're in DJ's basement since his parents are outta town.

"Well, I am trying to convince Heather to go, but she's not easy to win over." Alejandro scratches his neck and I laugh.

"What about you?" Geoff smirks as three sets of eyes look at me.

"No one." I shrug.
"Oh, come on!" Geoff says.
"What about Courtney?" he smiles, hopeful.

"I don't like her." I roll my eyes.
"I'm still rooting for you two." Geoff shrugs.

"Good luck with that." I say as they all give me unconvinced looks.

"Geoff, why do you want me to be with her so bad?" I glare at him.
"Cause you two are meant to be, man!" he shouts at me.

"And how? We're quite literally opposites." I roll my eyes.

"Opposites attract." DJ winks as Alejandro nods along.

"That's a myth. A myth that doesn't exist. And even if it did, it wouldn't apply to me and Courtney." I say as I take a hit of my joint.

"I'd beg to differ." Geoff shrugs.
"I've seen you two around each other. The chemistry!" he punches my shoulder.

"Eh? Eh?!" he grins as I give him a blank stare.

"I'm not gonna ask her out." I say as I lean towards the window frame.

"You two are already kind-of dating, go for it!" Alejandro suggests.

"No. Plus she's probably going with farm-boy." I say as I try to hide my slight-disappointment.

Not that I'm sad or anything. Just think she deserves better.
