two months later ...

"Nervous?" Duncan grinned at Courtney, who was repeatedly smoothing her hair down.
"No..." she glared at him.
"You've already met them, it's not a big deal, Princess." he laughed but she didn't find it funny.

"Yeah, but that was when we were fake-dating. Now we're dating-dating! It's different. Now I actually need to impress them."

"They already love you, so I think you'll be fine." Duncan smiled as he moved a piece of her bangs out of her face.
Courtney rolled her eyes, but a small smile had betrayed her as it lay on her lips.

"You do realise my parents are coming too?" she scratched the back of her head.
"Yep. That I'm nervous for..." he mumbled sheepishly.

"I didn't exactly make the best impression," Duncan said as he readjusted his tie.
If it weren't for Courtney, he would've willingly worn jorts and a shirt.
"You're doing it wrong." Courtney rolled her eyes as she stepped forward and started to fix it.
Duncan just looked down at her.
"You look really good when you're focused." he grinned, his teal eyes staring at her.

She glared up at him, clearly unfazed.
"Shut up." she said, trying to hide the blush that suddenly heated her face- before giving him a peck on the cheek- now making Duncan flustered.

"Okay, and done!" Courtney smiled proudly.
It was weird seeing Duncan in such formal wear, dark green tie, paired with a white button up and an even darker green suit. He even had a green pocket square flower to match.
Courtney though, was wearing a long sparkly green dress, it went down to her ankles and was tight in just the right places. Her hair was up in a low bun with a few pieces hanging out.
Duncan had convinced her to wear her natural hair, so a few curls stuck out, just the way he loved. She had a matching corsage, a green hydrangea.

"Oh my gosh." Courtney gasped, suddenly realising the time. "We're late! C'mon!" she grabbed Duncan by his tie- dragging him along.
"Well, thank God I live next door." he smirked when they got there in less than ten seconds.

Courtney ringed the doorbell and waited, her foot tapping the ground over-and-over again, but it was even more obnoxious sounding when she had heels on.
"Hello, lovebirds!" Lauren, Duncan's older sister grinned as she opened the door and let them in.
"Courtney, you look soooo hot!" she exclaimed as she gestured to her dress.
"That's what I sai-" Duncan started but she shot him a dirty look.
"Let us talk, will you?" Lauren rolled her eyes and brought her to her room.

Duncan had two sisters, Lauren, 19 and Lilly, 11. They all shared the same teal eyes, and the same smirk.

"Oh my God!" Lilly gasped when Courtney walked into Lauren's room, Lilly with her legs resting on the wall, facing upside down.
"You look so pretty!" she smiled, flipping over and hugging Courtney.
"Thank you, Lil!" she smiled.

"Don't ruin her dress, Lilly!" Lauren rolled her eyes as she searched for something in her drawers.
"Jeez, sorry!" she rolled her eyes.
Another thing all of Duncan's family inherited was their sass.

"Ughhh, where the fuck is it- found it!" Lauren exclaimed as she hid something behind her back.
"What?" Courtney raised an eyebrow, staring suspiciously at her.

"Well... since you're going to prom, and my brother seems seriously to love you- even more than I do, I thought it was suitable for ya to wear this!" she smirked as she revealed a beautiful silver necklace, decorated with emeralds.
