By the way guys, the casts are just references incase you can't imagine what they look like. That's how I imagine them to be most of the time but you are free to imagine them in your own ways.
-------"What is it, Scorpius?" I asked.
"Uhm, it's easier to just show you than explain it." Scorpius said.
We trailed behind Scorpius out into the forbidden forest. The late autumn wind surrounded me like a blanket as the peaceful hum of the forest called out to me, beckoning me into its heart. The umber-brown forest showered me with its red leaves as my boots crushed the crackling leaves. The forest reeked of age with its almond-brown trees hovering over me like a shield. I could see the sun filtering through the tall trees and often, the sunlight would cut through the leaves and touch my face. The warmth of it swarmed over me, keeping me warm, for a few seconds before the cold autumn breeze surrounded me once more.
"Are you sure we're allowed to be here, Scorpius? Professor McGonagall said we should not enter the forbidden forest without a teacher." Ruby said.
"Well no, we're not supposed to be here but... just follow me and keep your voice down." Scorpius warned.
The scent of damp leaves filled my senses as I breathed in the crisp cool breeze. The wind ruffled my hair just as we go deeper into the forest. I watched my friends hike up the forest, Scorpius taking the lead. We all wore our school robes with our own uniforms and house ties underneath. Albus groaned as he swept his fringe over his face for the millionth time today, not that I was counting. Ruby fiddled with her braid and fixed her tie while trying not to step on muddy grounds. Scorpius seemed to be in his own world, stopping once in a while to talk about the different plants in the forest. He sort of reminded me of our guide when my parents and I went hiking together.
We finally reached an opening and I thought I was dreaming. 4 baby Pegasi were running around chasing each other.
"Scorpius, how did you find them?" I asked.
"I woke up a bit too early this morning and decided to take a walk. I didn't realise I was getting closer to the forbidden forest and had to stop myself from going further. But then I could hear wailing noises from inside the forest so I decided to check it out and then I found these little ones. They were scared of me at first, so I just sat here and waited until they came to me." Scorpius explained.
Ruby tiptoed up to a pegasus but it ran away before she even got close.
"I don't think they like new people." Albus said as we watched them.
"Uhm, you thought wrong." Scorpius said to Albus and pointed to something behind me. I felt a slight nudge on my ankle. I tilted my head, just enough for me to see what was behind me and was, apparently sniffing my foot. I turned around slowly, not wanting to scare the Pegasus away and kneeled. To my surprise, to everyones surprise to be exact, the Pegasus didn't run away.
"Hey little one." I said as I patted its head, "Scorpius can you help me."
"Yeah sure, with what?" Scorpius replied.
"Can you, uhm, check if its a male or a female?"
"Alright." Scorpius said rather awkwardly, "It's a male."
"Thank you." I said, "Are you hungry, boy?"
The Pegasus spread his wings in response. He nudged my hand softly and I patted his head again. He was even more beautiful up close. His silver fur felt soft under my skin. His silver wings spread widely on his sides revealing a soft pink underneath as his hooves stomped the ground, resulting in our boots getting covered in mud. He rolled around on the mud like a pig, staining his silver wings with the brown earth.
"Does any of you guys know what pegasus eats?" Ruby asked while I stood up, brushing off bits of mud and grass off of my robe.
"I do." I raised my hand.
"and that was why I brought you here." Scorpius said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I knew you'd know what pegasus ate because, clearly, I didn't know. That's why I brought you guys here and also because I knew you guys would think it was cool."
"Brilliant to be exact." Albus added.
"Well it's quite easy to tell really. Unicorns feed on floras to get their full nutrients so I assume that pegasus aren't much different at all. After all, they are from the same family. Floras can only bloom in tropical places," I explained, "but since we are not in a tropical island or in a place that is somewhat tropical, we could replace those floras with berries. You wait right here." I told the pegasus to stay while I search for berries. I saw some during our hike here. I traced my steps back and picked up some red berries.
I ambled along the dull forest, trying not to trip over the snaking roots of the skyscraper trees. I was a clumsy person after all. I clutched the berries in my palm, careful not to squeeze it. It was getting late and I could see the sky bursting into colours. Soft pink cotton candies floated above me as orange and red paint streamed in over the blue sky. It was magnificent. I was captivated by the beauty of my surroundings that I didn't see a twisty root in front of me. My foot got caught underneath it and I was sent tumbling to the mucky old ground. I stood up carefully and picked up the berries. I felt a sharp burn on my knee and sat back down again. I let my hand wander around my feet until it touched something wet. I brought my finger up to my face and to my horror, there was blood. My stockings was ripped apart and there was blood everywhere. My eyes watered at the sheer pain of my knee and I was sweating. I forced myself to stand up and my feet trembled. I grabbed on to trees as support and limped back to where my friends are.
"Alice." Scorpius was first to realize when I reached the opening. Albus and Ruby turned around instantly as they heard the worry in Scorpius's tone.
"Oh My God. Alice, what happened?" Ruby asked as she ran up to me.
"I fell down." I tried to keep a brave face but I could tell from their worried looks that I was about to cry. My nose was runny and my face was heating up. Sweat drizzled down my face as they helped me to sit down. My pegasus ran up to me and sniffed my blood. A tear slipped from his eyes as he came up to me and ruffled my robe with his head.
"Here's your berries little one." I said as I gave him the berries that I kept safely on my palm. He ate them all hungrily and left to play with his friends.
"We better get you to the hospital wing, Alice." Albus said.
"No. I'll be fine. If you bring me to the hospital wing, they'll find out that we were here." I said.
"You've got a point there but we cant just leave it like that." Ruby said as she pointed at me knee, "You would get infections."
"I'll be fine, I can take care of myself. I was a fireside girl before I came here you know." I said as I leaned back and laid under the pretty sky.
"You were a lot of things before you came here. I can bet on that." Albus said as he did the same and so did the others.
I chuckled at him and we all just laid there peacefully. I felt some kind of warmth in me and thought it was just the vibe of the surroundings, but that's when I realized my knee didn't burn anymore. I sat up instantly, followed by everyone else.
"My knee." I said as I looked at my knee in horror. Albus, Ruby and Scorpius stared at my knee with the same horrified expressions.
"Your wound." Albus said.
"It's gone." Scorpius added.
"I know. It healed." I said in shock. I stood up and just as I expected, I didn't feel any pain.
"What is going on?" Ruby asked.
"I have no idea."
