PACK MENTALITY
THE FINAL SHOW

"PILAR IS GONE", Derek Hale stated in his frustration. The entire McCall pack stood up. Had they not just wanted the kids against leaving? Was that not the entire point of it all? To keep everyone safe and visible? "Again."

Pilar McCall was a good girl. For the most part, she always did everything her father said. Not that night. She knew that she could stop this all from happening if she tried hard enough. The Spirit of Fenrir could not come to fruition.

She approached the chain link fence, unsurprised to find Leena and Lane already waiting for her. "Pilar, we're glad that you finally came to your senses and all, but why are we meeting on a football field?", Leena asked, tucking a strand of her long, dark hair behind her ear.

"It's a lacrosse field, we don't exactly do football", Pilar corrected. "You said that it had to be done in an open space, and that I had to be completely relaxed. It's an open space and I feel comfortable here. No one is going to come to the school at night."

"But-"

"That is enough, Leena", Lane interrupted, his voice cold and strict. He didn't seem to hold a lot of love for his sister in that moment, only annoyance. "It does not matter why Pilar chose the spot that she did. It only matters that she has agreed to help us get the Spirit of Fenris." He held his hand out to Pilar, his smile charming. "Come along, Pilar. We must get started."

Pilar took Lane's hand, guiding her to the field. Lionel's entire pack was there, along with seven women in black, hooded cloaked who had their hands clasped in front of them. "Who are they?", Pilar asked warily.

"Witches", Leena answered. "They're from your mother's bloodline."

Pilar furrowed her brows in confusion. "My mom wasn't a-"

"There are many things you do not know, Pilar", Lionel interrupted, holding his hand out to her. "But after tonight, you will understand everything." He took her wrist, holding her palm out to the large artifact that rested in the center of it all. The moment she got close to it, whispers seemed to fill the air from every direction. The wind toyed with Pilar's hair, caressing her skin. "Do you feel it?"

Pilar shut her eyes, allowing the artifact's power to wash through her. "I feel... everything." Life. Death. Balance. Power.

"And it will all be yours", Lionel grinned, placing his hands on her shoulders. "You are everything we could have hoped for."

Unbeknownst to her, Pilar had had followers. But Lionel's pack was prepared for every situation. Silent as a mouse, Jo leaned forward until her lips were right next to Cesar's ear. "Boo!"

The group jumped in alarm. Jaime turned to face Jo's laughing figure with a snarl. "You-"

The moment Jaime stood, Jo shook out her claws. She had inherited the chimera genetics from her father, though she supposed she technically would have had her aunt to thank for it. She shared the same mix of werecoyote and werewolf. "I wouldn't", she warned before snapping her fingers. "Take them to Lionel", she said to the large men who accompanied her. "Thanks for making my job easier, losers!"
