Mark: What do you mean by that?
Ark: You see. I was originally from Earth, long ago.
This japanese speaking bastard is from Earth? Yeah, that makes sense. That wasn't sarcastic.
Mark: You were from earth?
Ark: Yes. I was deemed "too dangerous". So instead of destroying me, they sent me to Copper-9 to act as a satellite.
Mark: Huh, anyways. We're trying to look for you?
Ark: Yes, in order to accomplish your goal, you'll need a frame in order for it to work. If you attempt to do so without it, you'll receive-
Allison: The most undesired results.
Ark: Shut up you lousy code.
Allison: Make me you failure of a communication network!
Mark: Hey! Cut it out!
I put my hand to the bridge of my nose as I let out a sigh.
Mark: Ok, so. I have to find the rest of you for it to work?
Ark: Yes.
I placed the jar of the biopunk heart on the table as I left the pod.
Mark: Alright. You put up a marker not long ago. Right?
Ark: Correct.
I look around my HUD trying to find the marker. Once I found it I opened my wings and flew to the spot.
Mark: So, what exactly am I looking for?
Ark: You are looking for a satellite that has submerged into a lake.
After hearing that I stop flying forward and floated in place.
Mark: So, wouldn't it mean that it's just not working anymore?
Ark: Wrong. The outside is submerged in water, but the inside is dry.
Mark: ...
Ark: What?
Mark: But you crash landed. That's going to break the outside.
Ark: While yes that is logically correct, it is protected by my programming.
Mark: ... Programming... That's inside of the satellite... That crashed... Into water.
Ark: I understand you don't believe me, but my failsafe, her, is specifically designed so that if my programming is susceptible to being damaged. It would be protected by liquid metal.
Mark: ... You do understand how dumb that sounds, right-
Ark: Yeah yeah. I know.
I run my hand through my hair as I land on the crunchy snow and start walking.
Mark: So, Allison was you failsafe?
Ark: Yes.
Mark: So how is she supposed to function?
Allison: I function by altering reality to keep the satellite from malfunctioning or repair it in case of such an event.
I kept walking through the empty streets of the town.
Mark: Don't you think altering reality is just a little overkill?
Ark: My existence is too valuable to be destroyed, contrary to her argument.
Allison: You'd be dead without me.
Ark: You wouldn't exist if it weren't for me!
The two began bickering again so I switched my emotion inhibitor back off. After that I walked through the abandoned city without much problems. The only problem is that when I turn off the inhibitor, not only am I vulnerable emotionally, anything set up by Ark or Allison is removed. This means I no longer have a marker on where this thing is.
