Inky ate dinner and talked to her dad.

"So, how was your day?" Her father asked.

"It was good," Inky said.

"What did you learn in school?"

"I learned how to turn into a cat and a dog. And I learned a new spell," Inky said.

"Could you show me after dark?" Her dad asked.

"Sure," Inky replied.

When the sun had set, Inky and her dad closed all the curtains and went into the living room.

"Turn into a cat," Inky's dad requested. Inky did as told and turned into a cute, all-black cat. "OK, now a dog." Inky turned into a black cocker spaniel. Then Inky turned into herself.

"Do you want to see the new spell now?" Inky asked her dad. He nodded. "Ok, it's something weird like nat-ta-cosh-eiom or something like that."

"Netachoiem," her father corrected.

"That's the one," Inky said.

"And do you remember what it does?" He asked.

"I think it catches things. Like for hunting," Inky said.

"It can be used for hunting but it can also be used for catching kids, NETACHOIEM!"

In seconds Inky was caught in a magic net.

"Did your teacher tell you how you can get out of them," Mister Thorn asked. {That's Inky's last name, Thorn.}

"No, she said she would teach us that tomorrow," Inky said. "She did tell us not to do it on our friends."

Mr. Thorn smiled. Inky gave a small smile back.

"So, do you think I could meet up with Yuri on Shrieking Street this Saturday," Inky asked.

"I suppose that would be alright," said Mr. Thorn. Inky threw her arms around her father and hugged him.

"Oh, thank you," Inky said.

"OK, now you should go to bed. You do have school tomorrow."

Inky gave him a good night kiss on the cheek and went to her room to sleep. She couldn't wait to go to the Shrieking St. with Yuri and she only had one day to wait, too. How in the world was she going to get any sleep?

The Vampires make trips to Shrieking St. a special time because to get to the secret entrance you have to go through the busy city. The entrance is through a back alley behind buildings, kinda like a 2nd street. Everyone, well the whole Vampire community loves it there! Shops line the street filled with things that Vampires like. Some of the shops sell normal things like food and drink. Others sell pets and some sell treats. And at the end is the blood bank. The blood in the bank isn't human blood but a mix of animal blood. The workers collect animal blood from farms where they raise animals and when they are old enough, they make a small cut and collect the blood from it. Then they stitch up the wound so the animal doesn't get sick from too much blood loss or infection of the wound. They give the animals very good treatment. They will use an animal till the day it dies and give it a place in their graveyard.
