Chapter 12

  When the pair got back, Aunt Sue had a room ready for him. Liam and Inky put the boxes down and Inky helped Liam unpack.

When the two had finished they went to the kichen to find fresh made cookies.

"These look good," Liam said. "Can I have one?"

"What a nice young man, of course you may have one," Aunt Sue said, then added, "When they cool down."

Liam looked sad and Aunt Sue noticed.

"How about you two play a game while you wait."

"Fine," Inky said. She was sad too but she could wait. Liam looked like he was going to implode. "What if we went to the store to get two cookies while we wait."

"Fine by me, have fun," Aunt Sue said with out looking up from what she was doing.

Liam took Inky by the hand and led her to the door. The two left and headed to the closet bakery.

When they left they both had a big cookie of their choice.

As they were walking home they ran into Henry. He didn't look to happy to see Inky. Then his face twisted into a sly smile. Liam noticed and pulled Inky into his arm. Liam glared at Henry.

"What's wrong, Liam? Don't trust your girl with me anymore?" Henry asked in a mocking tone.

"Do you want something, Henry?" Liam asked in a cold tone. Inky had 'scared girl' written all over her face.

"If you'll let me, I have some business to finish with that girl," Henry pointed a finger at Inky.

"Her name is Inky, and you won't let you touch her," Liam said. He put his other arm in front of Inky.

"Oh, I wasn't asking," Henry said. He rushed forward and grabbed Inky's arm. Liam tried to hold on to Inky, but Henry yanked her away from him.

"Get back here," Liam called after Henry.

Henry turned into an alley and Inky tried to stop him, but he pushed her up against a wall.

"Liam, help," Inky called out. Henry put his hand over her mouth to quiet her.

"Now, were did we leave things," Henry asked in a mocking tone. "Oh yeah."

Henry slammed his lips onto Inky's and held her arms to the wall.

When Liam caught up with them, the sight that met his eyes enraged him. Henry was kissing Inky! Again! Liam would've been heart broken if he saw that Inky was enjoying it but she wasn't. Her nose was winkled and her eyes closed. Liam put all his strength in a punch that he landed in Henry's face. This surprised Henry and he fell back. Inky took this opportunity to run to Liam. Liam ran Inky home and into the house.

"Why were you running?" Aunt Sue pocked her head out from the kichen.

"We just wanted to know if the cookies were ready," Liam said. Inky wondered how he came up with that so fast, but she played along.

"Yeah, so are they?" Inky asked.

Aunt Sue left and came back with two plates with cookies on each. Liam and Inky took the plates and thanked her. They headed to Liam's room.

"Safe," Liam breathed.

The two enjoyed their cookies in silence.

"Thanks for saving me," Inky said.

"No problem," Liam told her. "I couldn't just walk away from the girl I like when an evil boy takes her away."

Inky blushed. Liam did too once he realized what he had just said.

"So, when can I kiss you," Inky asked. This shocked Liam and he almost fell off the bed.

"W-what!" Words failed Liam.

"How about now?"

Liam just looked at her. Inky got closer to Liam.

"I'll take that as a yes."

Inky crashed her lips to Liam's. Liam's shock subsided and he Kissed Inky back. His arms slowly went around Inky's waist and he pulled her to his chest. Inky's arm's at the same time, curled up around Liam's neck. The two sat there kissing, what they counted as, their first kiss.

When they let go they stared into each other's eyes. Inky's arm's came down but Liam kept his hands where they were, around Inky's waist.

"I love you," Liam's voice was soft as he spoke. "I want to merry you, If you'll have me?"

"YES!" Inky flung her arms around Liam's neck and he fell backwards on the bed, Inky still hugging him. Then she noticed she was on top of him and got off of him quickly.

"Sorry," She said.

"It's fine," Liam said. "If this is my life now, I'll take it."

Inky blushed.

"But I am not 18 yet," She said.

"No, but you will be next month," Liam said. "On the 12th if I remember right."

"How did you remember that?" Inky asked.

Liam blushed as he told Inky that he had written it down.

"I wanted to remember the Birthday of my crush," He said sheepishly.

This made inky blush and she put her hand in front of her face to hide it.

"I wrote down your birthday too," Inky admitted.

The two were interrupted when Aunt Sue called that dinner was ready.
