Chapter 17

By the time I wake up, Theo is gone so I just lay in bed staring up at the ceiling. My head hurts from drinking too much and my mind is so loud that I wish I could just claw it out, everything that's happened with Nick in the past year flashes constantly through my mind. The finality of yesterday's talk hit me way harder than I expected it to but that also means that I can finally move on from everything. I still have 2 months until summer is over and I begin my last year of college, so I am going to make it my goal to enjoy every moment of it. I grab my phone and Andrea has blasted the group chat we have with Kelsie with pictures of her and Alex in Spain, this automatically makes me smile. I send her a picture back of me in bed but covering my face with the caption 'Jack Daniel's claimed another victim' to which she laughs at

CHAMBER OF SECRETS
Me: 'I'm so happy you're having fun'
Kelsie: *picture of the house* 'get the fuck up Penny'
- 'look at you two all happy and disgusting'
Andrea: 'I'll send more pictures later, we're going on a boat'

I smile at my phone again before getting up "Kelsie?" I yell from the top of the stairs "yo" she yells back "I'm gonna shower this whiskey smell off of me" I say "alright, I brought breakfast" she replies. I have a quick shower, change into a comfortable blue bodycon dress before joining Kelsie in the kitchen. She's laid out some stuff from Starbucks on the kitchen island for us "you are a godsend" I say grabbing the coffee she pushes towards me, I take a long sip burning my mouth in the process "did you and Theo finally get down and dirty?" Kelsie asks "No, why?" I ask and she hands me a pack of cigarettes with a little note on it 'hope these are the right ones - T <3' I try to hide the clear smile that creeps onto my face "so what happened?" Kelsie asks and I tell her everything that happened yesterday which she just stares at me in utter shock for a few seconds "Wow, I wasn't expecting that" Kelsie says and I nod "yeah me neither" I sigh

"Are you okay?"

"I don't know, I mean I'm upset but I also finally feel free like I needed that shake to finally let go"

"Well it's definitely a good thing"

I nod "so what's the plan?"

"Since you're the one going through this breakup for the second time, balls in your court"

"Special treatment? I should show my sadness more often"

"You're trash"

We both laugh "I don't want to do much, I could drown my face in a tub of ice cream and rewatch the Scream franchise"

"Amazing, I'm going to go to the store. You set up the living room for our cute little movie date"

Kelsie gets up and heads out the door before I can reply so that's exactly what I do, I pull out the couch so it turns into a bed, grab all my pillows and my nice blankets before turn on the AC because it's boiling hot today. I set up the movie and close all the curtains just as Kelsie arrives again with so many bags that's she's struggling to get through the door, I run to her and take some of the bags "alright these go in the freezer and these are snacks" she splits up the bags, I take the snacks to the living room and lay them out onto the table. She's got everything varying from ready popcorn to chips to chocolate to different types of candy. We get up on the couch and turn the movie on

By the time Theo arrives, we are on the third movie and half the snacks have been devoured "slumber party?" Theo asks "don't expect a semi naked pillow fight it's not gonna happen" Kelsie says "oh come on that's the best part" Theo protests, I look over at him and he shoots me a smile that I instantly return "how you feeling Sunflower?" Theo asks "ask me again tomorrow" I reply "did I get it right?" He asks "you did" I raise the still sealed pack of cigarettes that I kept next to me "good" he nods before heading upstairs "he likes you" Kelsie whispers "we're friends" I reply returning my attention to the TV "no, sunflower, we are friends. You and him is an epic love story waiting to happen" Kelsie mocks but I roll my eyes at her "I'm done chasing fairytales Kelsie, the only love story I aspire to be devoted on is the one involving Feyre and Rhysand" I reply
