"You're just going to avoid work?" I ask Kelsie who's sitting at the kitchen island waiting for me to finish cooking breakfast "yes" she replies not even looking up from her phone, she isn't usually this quiet and when she it we know it's something fucked up "are you going to keep pretending you aren't upset?" I ask "absolutely" Kelsie replies "want me to throw a party tonight so we can get shitfaced fucked and forget our names?" I ask, Kelsie finally looks up from her phone automatically interested "We are going clubbing, there's this new place opening tonight. I got our names already on the guest list, funny enough I hooked up with the owners daughter last week" Kelsie says handing me her phone so I can see, the club looks pretty cool, very 2000 vibes in the best way possible "sounds great" I reply "I don't want to drive and Uber is expensive, can you bribe Theo?"

"I don't need to bribe him, he's nice enough to come for the vibes"

"Will you just admit that you're fucking?"

"We're not fucking, Kelsie"

"This again? Come on you guys are always on the verge of ripping each others clothes off in the middle of kitchen and fuck on the counter"

Been there done that but she doesn't have to know about it yet, or ever for that matter so I just roll my eyes at her and shake my head

"Come on, Nellie, how long are you two just going to keep pretending you don't want each other. It's very obvious, I'm sure Andrea will notice it too the moment she's back"

"She asked me to promise that I wouldn't get involved because she thinks he'll break my heart, I get it after I practically sold my soul for Nicks happiness so I didn't ask any extra questions. Your best friends asks you to make a promise in something that's important to her, you do it"

My mind doesn't fail to yell out 'fucking liar' over and over again. And Kelsie doesn't look convinced either but she has a knowing look on her face "what is it?" I ask "Andrea asked me to keep an eye on you these two weeks because she thought that leaving you and Theo alone here would force you two together. She's seen the flirting and she wanted me to cockblock" Kelsie says "that's fucked up and you've barely been around" I say "I told her no"

"Why?"

"Because it's not my business to spy on you because she thinks she can control who you get with, I mean you and Theo are both adults if you get involved then it's up to you"

"I guess that might be a good point"

I hand her her plate just as Theo comes downstairs in his full gray suit, my favourite one, I frown "thought you were off the whole week" I say curiously while making his plate of eggs, lots of bacon and pancakes always 2 to be exact "I am, they needed me to come in for a quick report on a case that I led. But I shouldn't be long, am I seeing you later today Kelsie?" Theo asks "yes, matter of fact you're driving us to a party" Kelsie smiles making me laugh "like a chauffeur or like a friend?" Theo asks while I pack his breakfast on a plastic container "like a friend obviously" Kelsie replies "great" Theo says "this is why you're my favourite girl Sunflower" Theo adds before taking the container, shooting me his million dollar smile and walking out "favourite girl huh" Kelsie says and in that moment I am almost tempted to tell her everything at fucking once but it isn't worth the stress

Plus it's not like Theo and I are anything serious or worth mentioning, yeah we are sleeping with each other but everything else we were doing before this even began. I make breakfast for everyone in the house together, he's not an exception and as for the flirting? It started as a joke but the chemistry we felt was undeniable.
