They made eye contact which caught Sunghoon off guard.
He immediately turns his attention back to his notebook.
Jake: "Hi?"
Sunghoon coolly responds, "Hello." his eyes not leaving his notebook.
Jake, still sporting a warm smile, chimes in,
Jake: "We're gonna be seatmates for the rest of the year."Sunghoon's matter-of-fact response: "I know," acknowledging the obvious.
Jake's smile persists as he muses,
Jake: "I think I've seen you somewhere."Sunghoon finally lifts his gaze, curiosity tugging at him.
Sunghoon: "Where?" he inquires.Jake ponders for a moment, then suggests,
Jake: "Do you work at a coffee shop?"
Sunghoon responds simply, "Yeah."
To this, Jake confirms, "Yeah, then I did see you."
Curiosity piqued, Sunghoon asks, "So, you were a customer?"
Jake nods in affirmation.
Sunghoon continues writing notes, but this revelation lingers in his mind.
Jake's gaze lingers on Sunghoon, who returns the look, feeling a subtle awkwardness.
Just as Sunghoon glances away, Jake finally speaks up,
Jake: "What is that mark on your forehead?"
Taken aback, Sunghoon furrows his brows, momentarily having forgotten about the bruise. He quickly composes himself, replying with a hint of embarrassment,
Sunghoon:"Oh, it's nothing-"
Jake's hand then gently rests on Sunghoon's forehead, touching the bruise. Caught off guard, Sunghoon pulls back slightly, a mix of surprise and pain on his face.Jake quickly withdraws his hand upon realizing the discomfort he caused.
Jake: "Oh, I'm really sorry."
Sunghoon manages to utter a response, "It's o-oh-k-", his words momentarily strained by the lingering pain.
Jake observes, "It's still fresh."
Sunghoon's embarrassed gaze shifts away, and he silently nods in acknowledgement.
Jake: Wait-Jake swiftly retrieves a small pouch from his bag and carefully extracts a bandage.
Sunghoon, taken aback, quickly intervenes, "No, you don't have to. It's fine-"
But Jake remains determined, "Come on, it'll help heal it quicker."
Jake asserts himself, gently moving Sunghoon's hand aside as he applies the bandage to the bruise.
Surprised yet willing, Sunghoon allows him to proceed.
Jake playfully remarks, "Besides, the bruise ruins your handsome face." Before Sunghoon can respond, Jake adds a flirty smile and, turns back around to focus on his notes.
