Caleb's point of view
Si Elena, todo-sulat na ng notes and ideas. Ako? Nakatulala lang ako sa harap ng mga resources namin. Hindi sa ayaw kong tumulong, pero parang hindi ko mahagilap kung saan magsisimula.
Napatingin sa akin si Elena, from focused naging frustrated ‘yung mukha niya. "Gagawa ka ba talaga, o plano mong tumunganga diyan buong oras?" she snapped, halatang naiinis sa hindi ko pag-participate.
Nabigla ako sa biglaan niyang outburst. "Eh kasi... iniisip ko lang kung saan magsisimula," palusot ko, trying to scramble for an excuse. Pero ang totoo, hindi naman talaga ako nag-iisip about the project. Nahuli ko na lang 'yung sarili ko na nakatitig kay Elena, observing her na parang ibang tao siya kapag focused sa work.
"Iniisip? Mukha yatang nagde-daydream ka lang e," bawi niya, may halong inis sa boses niya. "Wala tayong time para diyan, Gabriel. Kailangan nating umusad sa project na 'to kung ayaw nating bumagsak."
"Hey, Elena, napansin mo ba 'yung libro doon na may title na 'Plants That Talk'? Think they gossip about the other books?" I tried to break the ice with a bit of humor.
