LIAM'S POV.

Nakatulala ako sa balcony, pinapanood ang mga alon ng dagat na parang gusto ko pang manatili doon. I love how comforting the waves and the breeze are. Magulo ang isip ko, confused, at hindi ko alam kung ano ang gagawin.

after ko maging masaya, biglang bumigat pakirandam ko.

Without warning, Kai appeared beside him with a playful grin. "Boo!" he exclaimed, breaking the silence.

"Oh, kitang-kita na mahilig ka sa kape," dagdag pa niya, habang tumatawa.

I barely reacted. I wasn't in the mood for jokes. I kept watching the waves, feeling disconnected from the moment Kai was trying to create. I needed to figure out what was going on inside me.

Pagkatapos ng saglit na katahimikan, naramdaman ko ang kamay ni Kai na humaplos sa balikat ko. "Don't carry the world on your shoulders. Let it out," sabi niya, sabay ngiti.

"Confused ako, Kai. Parang lahat ng bagay ay nagulo at mahirap ayusin," sabi ko.

"Then you need someone to help you, and that someone is me," sagot niya.

I looked away, fighting back tears."Di mo naman ako naiintindihan eh," i said, quietly

silence......

"Ikaw yun noh? Yung nagsulat ng letter for me," sabi niya.

I nodded, feeling embarrassed. It was hard to admit I had feelings for my close friend, and I felt foolish for it.

"Every joke of yours lights up my day, and your smile is my favorite. That's why it hurts me when you're hurting. You are important to me too. You're also the friend I can't bear to lose. We're so alike, right? I see you as more than just a friend too," sabi ni Kai

I don't know what to say, and I'm still trying to understand my feelings if they're right or wrong. It hurts so much to realize that I have feelings for my male friend, especially with a homophobic parent. It feels like such a painful and wrong situation.
