Hunter grimaced at the sight."I thought the Hold was protected even from our technology." Hunter turned to face Xavier.
"They must have taken out our magic shield somehow, maybe they have a new sorcerer or a new magical artifact."
"Or maybe Hunter," Xavier raised his finger at the prison, "Maybe Amadeus is just a terrible mystic."
Hunter's eyes shifted from Xavier's visor to his.
"You wanna go?"
"Nah, I'm good."
"We can't just fly in," Malcom spoke up, "It'll be too easy for the Vaknar to take us down." "What if we had the element of surprise?"
Xavier turned to them both.
"What do you mean?"
"If we shot a butterfly cannon at Vaknar, it would take them out right?"
"But there's no way we could get in undetected," Hunter contemplated. "Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. The spells from the Hold are all still intact, as long as we don't enter or damage the structure, we'll be fine."
Xavier smirked as he pointed towards the prison. The ship's engine banged as it shuddered forward and docked with the Hold. They entered through the airlock and walked directly out of the ship.
"So how do you know the Hold's spells are still functional?" Xavier waved his hand and then pointed to the airlock door.
A bright blue light stuck around the door as it melted into water until it disappeared.
"That's...Weird." Malcolm looked at Xavier with a questionable look. "You sure Grim didn't tell you anything about this stuff?"
"Grim didn't tell me everything."
Xavier walked forward and the group followed suit. The door remained as they were walking above it, as though it were never there.
"It's like we're not even in the ocean anymore."
"We're not."
Xavier stole a glance at Hunter and then turned to the center of the wall. The door melted into the steel, revealing a grand path of the center of the prison. In the center was a guard's station, where the guards would meet with the witnesses, who were currently in panic as the Vaknar came through the center of the path. The Vaknar soldiers, the new breed of superhumans, shook the room with a cold aura of power. Xavier and Hunter ran as fast as they could as the Vaknar braced their bullets and fired toward them. They connected a punch towards one of the Vaknar's faces and slipped through the group.
"Hunter!" Xavier called. "You got this!"
Hunter rolled past the Vaknar and whipped out his handgun.
"Boom!"
The bullet surfaced and collided with the Vaknar's abdomen, even penetrating the skin of his armored suit.
"We gotta push ahead!" Xavier shouted.
They all fired at the Vaknar, who retaliated with heat vision and concentrated beams of energy. The room was surrounded by a blinding light as they exchanged blows. Xavier's shoulder was grazed by a beam as he shot three of his blades at the Vaknar.
"You fight like a child!" The Vaknar spat as he kicked Xavier down.
"Take his blade!" Hunter shouted.
The Vaknar's eyes widened as he uttered,
"You all claim to be agents of G.H.O.S.T, protectors of the powerless, yet are all still so weak!" Xavier weaved his swing and somersaulted towards Hunter with the support of his suit's gyro thrusters.
