G.H.O.S.T. HQ Remains (Grim City)

The light dissipated slowly, revealing Shane finally let go of his hold, with the mist disappearing slowly. Once the noise had ceased and the building stopped creaking, the man in black let go of the Spell. Xavier looked around, his teammates lost as well. What the hell did he just do? Xavier thought. "He teleported us." Amadeus said as if he read his mind.
"In Grim City?"
"I'm afraid so."
"Dammit. What was the point of this if we just brought the future closer to us."
"We still have a chance."
Xavier looked down at the view of the city around them. G.H.O.S.T. HQ was now in the center of the Grim City, crushing the honorific statue dedicated to their missing director.
To his back and up a floor lay an assortment of chaos. G.H.O.S.T. agents were engaged in battle with Vaknar super soldiers who had survived Shane's teleportation.
"How can you say that when the facts are in our face!" Kane shouted.
Before anyone could answer a loud clang could be heard through all the noise as Shane and Atlas continued their struggle once more.
"I WILL BRING PEACE TO THIS WORLD AS ALL ETERNITY WILL LIE IN THE HANDS ON THE POWERED!!!"
"Shane-ungh- Cease. This. Madnesss!!!"
"You don't have the vision Atlas, you never did."
Shane proceeded to slide under Atlas, weaving his former teammate as he swung his blade towards Atlas's legs.
Luckily Atlas could weave in time, barely missing the tip of the blade.
"If any one of the Elites had no vision, it was always you, Toribio."
"You should've died with my uncle."
It was as if something had broken in Atlas, the final string to his composure he required to hold his technique. The flames in eyes flickered only to increase two fold in volume. He threw his blade towards Shane at an accelerated speed.
Shane attempted to weave the blade, unaware of the flames spread across the blade as it erupted violently against Shane's skin.
"ARGHHHH"
Atlas two stepped before dashing to catch the blade in the middle of its flight.
Taking a breath and running the blade across the ground, Atlas steadied his stance as Shane battered off the rest of the flames off of him, seething his teeth in pain.
"Get up and fight."
Over the side of the cracked headquarters floor, Amadeus looked towards the two fighting, his brows furrowing.
"Atlas doesn't have much left in him, Malcolm it might be time for you to get off the bench."
"Alri-"
"No."
Everyone turned to Xavier, a steel cold look on his face.
"Son, We have t-"
"You don't get to call me that, I've got a sequence of cloaking technology in this helmet so how?"
"Much as I was under the spell, I was subconsciously here. The Malcolm you've grown to know is not the one that was there with your mother in the hospital. I know anger towards kin when I see it."
"Does Mom know?"
"She can't. Ever. I'm a douchebag to her and it has to stay that way."
"Why? Why would something like that be a secret?"
"Can any of you recount the end of the Vaknar war?"
"Yeah, The original Elites all rode to the end to defeat Marsa, Atlas died for the cause."
"Except the Elites never defeated her."
"What?" They all said in unison.
"Marsa can't be killed or contained...at least that's how it appeared to be. The Elites called me in before they stormed her facility as the best scientist they had on deck. I, along with Ace, went towards Marsa while everyone else fought her army." Malcolm looked towards Atlas as he fought Shane, the flames waning from his eyes yet the fury remained. "He still to this day never forgave me but accepted the outcome. To get rid of Marsa, Ace had to bond with her molecules, which he hadn't told anyone, we had made it up that all he had to do was separate the molecules, which was impossible."
"Why not Amadeus then?" Frost asked.
"Amadeus was imprisoned within Marsa, her powers caused a sickness within her, so once we found that out bonding Ace to her was inevitable, once they became one, Ace made me promise not to tell a soul on that day what had just occurred, faking his death and self destructing to get rid of her internally."
"No way..." Kane said.
"Then why the spell?" Xavier asked.
"I know the reversal equation to bringing Ace back, but it comes as the risk of reviving Marsa, healthy and content on killing us all in a hybrid form. The Knight was the dark lady's trusted guardian, and he knew I had the answers but Grim protected me as long as he could until he disappeared, with the spell taken off, his connection to it will trigger an alert to him now."
"I've spent most of my free life searching for the knight that fracking bastard has to pay." Amadeus grunted.
Xavier was in disbelief, his whole life he had hated the man before him, but now he didn't know what to think anymore.
"You've grown into a valiant young man," Malcolm wavered in his composure as he placed a hand on Xavier's shoulder.
"I- I know your beyond shocked right now."
"More than shocked. Bewildered."
"I want you to know I couldn't be prouder, Grim did right by you."
Xavier couldn't reply, with a tap to his cheek, Malcolm walked over to Amadeus.
"It's time."
Amadeus L'un raised up a hexagonal spell pyramid overlapped by a green script as it rotated with his eyes glowing.
"Let us-"
Amadeus paused the spell's rotation.
"Something the matter, my friend?"
"Hmm...just a thought you triggered."
Resuming the rotation, Amadeus placed a field around Malcolm.
"The rest of you, The Vaknar top dogs are getting closer as we speak. All the remaining agents can only keep them at bay for so long."Alright Elite's, we've trained for this, this is the run of the mill end of the world situation, The Vaknar just became an objective on a list compared to what's about to happen." Hunter shouted, motioning towards the agents fighting the Vaknar soldiers.
"All those "super powered" soldiers, this apocalyptic future might still happen and we need any available agent on deck. We are G.H.O.S.T.'s, we don't accept defeat or kneel to atrocities." Rasing a fist in the air, Hunter beckoned towards all the agents around him. "For the fallen."
"For the fallen." The G.H.O.S.T's said in unison.
