As I tried to keep Helen safe, she was trying so hard to bring us trouble

As I tried to keep Helen safe, she was trying so hard to bring us trouble. She succeeded because now Ronan knew where we lived. God knew that with time, Jack would know, that was if she had not told him yet.

I understood her perspective on everything.  She was clueless about the trouble she was paving the way for. And I knew she wanted us to have a normal life like any other person out there.

Meeting Jack made me question what our fate was. Were our parents not watching over us? They could tell we needed to be happy even for once, yet trouble kept raging our way, sabotaging every damn happiness we tried to create. Maybe me being a pianist was the problem.

I called Ben and he didn't answer. I knew he was practicing so maybe he left his phone in the locker. I wanted him to trace my location in case Ronan decided to kidnap me again. But I was on my own.

Leaving the house to the lobby wasn't an issue, I knew my way to the elevator. Once I got to the long, a guard would always come to help me out. But it was a rare occurrence because I rarely left the house alone.

I was wearing my casual wear since I had no plans of leaving the house. A pair of sweatpants and a loose tee shirt. My hair was probably messy because hello; I was to spend my day indoors. I did not get to change because it wasn't necessary, I was to meet him, we would talk probably in the car and I would go back inside.

The moment I stepped out of the elevator in the lobby, I froze for a moment. He was there, I could inhale him. I did not speak or react, the fact that he was inside the building we lived in, scared me. I just hoped he did not know our house number.

“You know, you need to find ways to know there is someone around you.” His deep voice finally broke the silence. I could have told him I knew because of his cologne, but he did not need to hear that. So I ignored his question and went straight to the point.

“You were not supposed to come inside the building.” In fact, there were two buildings with different entrances, how did he know I lived in block A?

“How were you supposed to find me?”

“Parking lot,” I said.

“How were you to go there?”

“Why don't you leave and find out?” I said. Using my walking stick, I ambled from where I was rooted and walked towards the direction I knew I would meet a guard. I forgot his name but he always walked to me whenever he saw me alone.

The problem now was that I wasn't alone, the guard wasn't going to approach me. So I stopped and I heeded Ronan’s steps behind me.
