Stuck in the middle (Minlix x Reader)

Chapter 1 - Formal introduction

I was just your average girl, focused on my studies and keeping my head down. I didn't like drawing too much attention to myself and spending most of my time practicing guitar and studying. I guess I'm just naturally introverted, only having one or two friends. And with the pressure from my parents, it was important for me to keep my grades up. I couldn't afford any distractions.

That's why as I sat in the lecture hall, typing down the notes on my laptop, the constant chatter from the back row was growing more and more irritating. I wasn't the type of person who liked confrontation, which is why I kept my mouth shut. Especially when it came to Lee Minho and Lee Felix.

The two of them were just so easily outgoing and popular, and they seemed to have a good dynamic despite the contrasts in personality.

Minho kept to himself, he never gave anything away. Everything he did and said seemed to be intentional, but sometimes when he was comfortable the façade would slip and his true personality would show through.

As for Felix, he was just a ball of sunshine. He always had a smile on his face and was really the only person who could make Minho seem so relaxed. Rumour had it that he had a temper, but I had never seen that for myself.

As I glanced towards the back row, distracted by their chatter, it was like Minho could sense my staring. I hadn't meant to stare, but maybe the annoyance was visible in my expression.

As Minho looked at me, I snapped my head back to the front, class was coming to end soon anyway and I couldn't wait to get back to my small apartment for the evening. I could feel my cheeks heating up with embarrassment, making eye contact with someone like Minho wasn't something I was used to.

As the professor bought the class to an end, I started to pack my things into my rucksack. I was usually one of the last to leave, simply because I liked to take my time and ask the professor questions.

"Hey, y/n right?" A deep voice sounded, and when I looked up I saw Felix stood on the row in front of me, pushing my laptop shut. My eyes flickered between my laptop and Felix, hesitant to pull it from under his hand.

I hadn't even noticed how Minho was stood right next to me, his intense eyes watching my every move "you know it's rude to glare at people?" He asked, raising a brow slightly.

I swallowed the lump in my throat, growing a little nervous "I wasn't glaring..." I muttered, reaching for my laptop. Felix pulled it out of my reach, a playful grin on his face "but you were-" he interrupted "Lee Know saw you, and I saw you."

I quickly bowed my head, internally cursing myself for not being able to hide my facial expressions. "I apologise... that wasn't my intention I-"

"Don't be so formal, Y/n" Minho put his finger under my chin, guiding my head back up so my eyes met his. His face was blank, it was hard to read what he was thinking.

"S-sorry-" I stammered back, unsure what the men expected. I was growing more and more nervous by the second.

"You need to loosen up... Minho we should take her to that place" Felix wiggled his eyebrows as he spoke, which only intrigued me.

Minho just stared for a moment, giving a small shrug before turning stepping out of my way. Felix started to walk up the stairs towards the doors, causing my eyes to widen. "My laptop-!?" I reminded him, following him for a few steps.

Felix paused, giving an embarrassed smile "sorry." He shrugged, handing it back to me before continuing to walk. I stopped for a moment, completely confused on what was going on until I felt Minhos hands on my shoulders, lightly guiding me forward.

"Come on, Y/n.. I think you'll like this." He whispered, scarily close to my face as I started to walk.

I didn't really want to go, part of me was worried about where they were taking me but the other part of me was curious. Where were we going? And why was I going with them? It wasn't a secret that they liked to make their way through the girls in the class, but was it my turn? I don't think so.

So reluctantly, I followed Felix out the building with Minho uncomfortably close behind.
