Everyday it’s been hard not to make DogDay mine, iv’e tried holding back multiple times but I'm barely being held by a tearing string. I’ve been quiet my whole time at the orphanage, because of my sleeping gas. Living as a mute critter is hard when everyone else is loud and chaotic, but that’s where I come in. I help them calm down and get a good night's rest, it’s a simple life. Until the prototype showed up, since then it’s been well, tense, to say the least. The only person who has heard of him was DogDay, he swore to me that we’d never tell the others in fear of them freaking out.

Well of course we know that we’re in a factory and whatnot, but this place is our home. Our sunny, grassy and cozy home. The other critters think i’m a little bit creepy, especially when I zone out or one of them is with DogDay, especially Kickin.

As I finish up my tea and look up at the sunset, my mind wanders to what DogDay is doing. I see him with the other critters as they play soccer on the plains. I feel a smile tugging at my cheeks as a slow stream of sleeping gas comes out. I put my cup down and join them, keeping my smile to a minimum.

“CatNap!! We were just finishing up a game of soccer! Then we were gonna go to my house and watch movies!” DogDay practically squeals as he beams. When he bounces like that, his tail swishes like a cat-toy waiting to be batted. As we walk to his house, I hold his hand gently, rubbing the short orange fur there. I wish I could just rub it against my cheek, or lower. I wonder what kind of movies we’ll watch at his house. Maybe I'll put on a scary one to make DogDay get scared and cuddle with me.

“CatNap, do you think we should get some fizzy drinks?” Hoppy asks me and I nod, smiling slightly. Each one of us likes different fizzy drinks, I prefer the vanilla ones DogDay likes though. It’s not a far walk from the field to DogDay’s place, only a couple of blocks away. As he opens the door, the other critters come in and I go to the kitchen to get a drink, I steal a sip of Doggy’s vanilla soda. Even though the drink is vanilla, I can taste a little bit of DogDay on it. He calls me over to the couch and I lay down, him laying in my lap.

“What do you want to watch, Kitty?” He asks me, playing with the fur on my stomach. I hesitate for a minute as he asks, focusing on his gentle touch. I look at the other critters and I come to a final decision.

“Horror, or anything you want.” I purr, everytime I speak, the critters have to cover their mouths because of my sleeping gas. But with DogDay, he doesn’t mind being sleepy. Doggy smiles wide and grabs a DVD from the shelf and puts it in, we watch the previews and teasers for other movies. As the movie goes on, I reheat some leftover pizza. When I come back DogDay is sprawled out on the couch, barely hanging onto the cushions. I chuckle as I lift his upper body up and place it on my lap, admiring the way that his chest rises and falls with each breath. He’s not that deep into sleep, that’s for sure. The movie feels like it drags on and on, the normal plot of a boring thriller.

I let out some of my sleeping gas since everyone seems to already be asleep, for someone who can make people fall asleep quickly, they sure can’t fall asleep themself. I rub DogDay’s tummy, feeling it grumble slightly under my touch, he’s such a good boy. I sigh deeply, sinking into the couch even more than I already was. I pad my way up the stairs, and up to DogDay’s room, he’s sleeping on the couch so I should give him some well deserved rest. His room has a light beige tone with soft brown decorations here and there with a comfy bed in front of the window. I stare out it for a couple of minutes, looking at the rising moon coming up the hill, and all the flickering stars in the midnight sky.
