Part 7

"I like Zara!"

He let out, crushing your heart into million pieces.

"What!"

That's all you could say in a low voice. Tears threatened to fall from your eyes, but you couldn't hold them back, they made their way out of your eyes and fell down.

"Hey are you crying?"

Jungkook asked, worried. You quickly wiped it and smiled forcefully.

"What! No I'm not, it's just something went inside my eyes"

You said rubbing your eyes and he believed your lame excuse.

"Ohh"
He said.

"So….. Y-you like zara?"

Your voice cracked. He nodded with a shy smile on his face, aching your heart.

"I liked her at first sight only, then we became close and my feelings increased. I like her so much y/n, will she accept my proposal? Will she say yes to me?"

He asked. Same questions I too asked myself, will he accept my proposal? Will he say yes to me? Your already broken heart again broke by his words. He was looking at you to answer. You smiled sadly, controlling your tears.

"Y-yes she will"
His eyes brightened up.

"Really?"

He asked. You nodded your head, smiling. Tears again pooled in your eyes.

"Thank you y/nie"

He said and hugged you. You couldn't hold it back and released your tears on his shoulder. I loved you for years, but you couldn't see my love for you. I was there for you every time. But guess you never saw me as something that I wanted you to see me like. If this is what you want, I'll let go of you for your happiness. But what I know is, she will never love you like I did.

You wiped your tears before he broke the hug so he couldn't see it. Zara came with the food in her hands.

"Let's eat it, it's looking so tasty"

She said while handing it to both of you. You got up from the bench.

"I'm not feeling well, I'll go home"

You said and quickly went from there before they could ask you any questions. You took a cab and went to your mansion, ran to your room and locked it from inside. Your back slid down the door and you sat on the floor, numb!

"Why can't he see my love for him? Why do I always get hurt? Why am I the one?"

You asked yourself and burst out into tears. You cried your heart out, whatever you were holding in, you just let it out through tears. After crying for like half an hour, you wiped your tears harshly and went to the bathroom and washed your face. You came out while wiping your face with a towel.

Your mobile rang, indicating someone is calling. You scoffed when you saw Jungkook was the one who's calling. You declined it and kept your mobile on aeroplane mode.

"I should move on. He likes my sister, not me. I should get this in my head. Y/n, just stay away from them, that will be the best. She's your sister and he's your best friend, they are not your enemies to fight with. Just let them be and let be you. Just forget about everything"

You tried convincing yourself. It's not his fault that he fell for her and not for you. It's feelings and we can't force anyone to like us back. We should just accept the truth and move on.

Next day

You didn't talk with Zara nor jungkook. You were escaping from them every time but Jungkook called you in the cafeteria. Shit!

"Hey y/n, why didn't you receive my call yesterday?"
He asked. What should I say now?

"Uhh.. I was not feeling well"
You lied.

"Are you okay now?"
He again asked, worried.

"Yes I am"
You said coldly.

"Then let's eat lunch together"

He said and grabbed your wrist but you yanked his hand away. He was surprised.

"I don't want to,"

You said and ran from there to the rooftop. He was hurt by your actions.

"What did I do wrong? Why is she behaving like this? Is she mad at me? Let's just not bother her now. I'll ask her next time. Hope she's okay".
He thought.

" It's so hard to ignore him. I can't break his heart by my rude actions but I don't have any other choice. I'm sorry kook, but I don't want to get hurt this time"

You said to yourself, wiped your tears and went to your next lectures.

Weeks passed, you were ignoring both of them as much as you could. You just act coldly with them. You just can't avoid them fully knowing that he is your best friend and she's your sister. And yeah, he also confronted his feelings to zara! They both are now dating.

Your heart ached so badly when you saw them kissing in the university but like always, you reassured your heart and tried moving on rather than being sad that he is dating your step sister.

"Hey y/n"
Sana greeted you.

"Hii, how are you?"

"Good, what about you?"

"Me too,"

You replied. She sat beside you. Jungkook was not sitting with you like before and you wanted it cause after all you want to stay away from him.
