"Replacement"

Part 16

"You saw, every girl was like drooling over you both!"
Sana said, gaining a laugh from you three.

"Yes, they were and we are used to it,"
Jimin winked.

"I wonder how someone can like an ugly ass like you,"

Sana scoffed. Taehyung laughed. Jimin glared at her.

"Whatever, I'm still handsome even if you don't agree"
He said, flipping his hair back.

"Enough guys, let's go home now."

You said. Classes ended and now it was time to go back.

"How about hanging out in the evening?" Taehyung asked, looking at you.

"Sure"

You replied with a smile. You were looking at each other but a voice interrupted you.

"Y/n.."
You knew it was jungkook.

"Can we talk?"
He asked.

"Okay then guys, meet you in the evening , bye"
You said.

"Bye y/n"
They said and left from there. You turned to him.

"Say,"

"Can we go to the backside garden, there are students here"

He said. You sighed and went towards the back area while he followed you. You stared at him blankly, waiting for him to start the conversation. He was looking down.

"Y/n….. I'm sorry" 

"I heard it-"

He cut you off with a tight hug. You stumbled on your feet, but balanced. You could feel your shoulder getting wet by his warm tears. Your heart clenched seeing him like this.

"Jungkook, leave me,"
You said, not harshly.

"I'm so sorry y/n, please don't behave with me like this. We were best friends. Please don't leave me all of sudden. The guilt is already making me feel horrible, and with you not by my side, I feel so empty. Please can we be like before, like we used to be before, besties? Can you forgive me please"

He said in a cracking voice. You sighed. You softly pulled back from the hug. He was crying like a baby. You wiped his tears. He was sniffing. Your eyes softened at his state. You can't deny the fact that you have a soft spot for him.

"Look jungkook, it's not your fault. I'm not fully blaming you. You like Zara, I don't have a problem with that, it's your choice that you like her and not me, we can't force feelings. But you hurted me more by replacing me with her. I know you got a girlfriend, you should spend time with her, but I was there too, whom you forgot."

You said, he was looking at you with teary eyes.

"I know I was the one who was ignoring you because I wanted to move on but you didn't even ask what's the matter with me! Why was I behaving like that, but what you did was to increase the distance. I was more hurt when you forgot my birthday! I know when you get in a relationship, you should spend time with your partner, you want to impress them, but you should not forget your other loved ones. You hurted me enough. Heck! My own sister did too. I know her but didn't expect it from you"

He was looking down with guilt in his eyes.

"Anyways, there's no point telling you all this. You are with her, your first crush and first girlfriend. It must feel nice right, sadly I couldn't get my first crush but it's okay. I'm happy for you. I guess I was just a friend for you but for me, you were….. Forget it! Stop blaming yourself now and forget everything. But yeah, one piece of advice for you, don't get so attached with her, she can hurt you"

You said and was about to leave but he held your wrist. You turned around to face him.

"At least be friends with me? You ignoring me like this makes me feel more guilty. I swear I will try to improve. I will cherish our friendship this time with all my heart. Please don't leave"

He said with his doe eyes. You scoffed.

"Yah I told you no that you don't have to feel guilty. Don't cherish this friendship now, it's broken jungkook. I don't think that this friendship can be restored, it's impossible. Even if we want to, we can't"

He looked at you with hurtful eyes. Your words broke his heart!

"You have a girlfriend , Jungkook, who is Zara. I know her more than you. You think she would let us be close, tell me jungkook, you still want our friendship back?"

You asked him, glaring at him carefully. He nodded as yes without any hesitation.

"Yes"
He said. You smirked.

"Then Will you leave Zara for it?"

You asked. He was frozen. You know he can't leave her but surely he can leave you if she asks the same question. He didn't reply anything. You chuckled bitterly.

"I know you can't"
He was looking down.

"I'm not telling you to leave her, I was just asking you don't worry"
He looked at you with guilty eyes.

"Now don't feel guilty and think that I forgave you but don't think that I can be your old y/n. It's not possible now. Your girlfriend will surely leave you and if you don't want that, they stay away from me. I also want to move on so I will stay away from you"

You was trying hard not to let your tears come out. His tears already fell from his eyes.

"I'm really sorry….r-really s-sorry"

His voice cracked. You gulped down the lump in your throat, your heart was clenching so hard. You went towards him. He was looking down, his tears were falling down. You hugged him softly, taking him by surprise.

"I will miss you kook"

You said softly, closing your eyes and your tears automatically made their way out from your eyes. He hugged you back, he wanted the hug to last for at least a minute but it didn't last even for a second. You quickly broke the hug and ran from there, you were scared that you would break down in front of him. He sat on the empty bench and sniffed, crying alone.

Who says that the breakup hurts the most? Many years of friendship, a true friendship is broken, two friends who are there but not close anymore now. Friendship is the most precious thing. Two persons, who become friends may not be blood related but they are there for you when your own doesn't care about you. But when that person is no longer with you, the bond is not like before, when one doesn't reciprocate the same care and love, then it comes to an end, and when it ends, it hurts the most.
