Shiratorizawa Academy. First year class hallway. 3:30 pm.

Tsutomu's POV

School hours finally ended and it was time for club activity. I've been meaning to ask Yoshida to watch our volleyball practice. I forgot to ask for Ushijima-san's permission but I think the coach will allow it.

"Hey, Yoshida-san, Agawa-san! Do you want to watch our volleyball practice?" I asked the girls, hopefully they would say yes.

"I haven't joined any clubs yet so sure!" Agawa answered.

I turned to Yoshida for her answer. Please say yes, please say yes, please say yes!

"I don't have any plans too, so why not? Are you sure we can watch though? You did embarrass us in front of your teammates." she sneered at me.

"Well, to be fair, when they found out it was you girls joining, they were cool with it though! I'm sure coach is fine with it. You're a volleyball player too! You can get inspired too, you know?" I knew she was going to bring that awkward first meeting with my teammates during lunch break just now.

"I believe you, for now. You'd better not embarrass us again!" she teased me while chuckling softly at me.

Dang it. How can she just effortlessly look beautiful while laughing? I can feel the blood rush to my cheeks. The effect she had on me was unreal.

"Come on, let's go! You're running late, Tsutomu!" Agawa warned me the time.

"We should get changed too, Yoshida-san!" Agawa told Yoshida.

"Coming!" Yoshida hurriedly followed the shorter girl (around 160 cm).

Boys' Volleyball Gymnasium, 3:47 pm

Sana's POV

This gym was magnificently enormous. Just as expected from a private school. I was still standing outside of the gym with Agawa at my front. I was a nervous wreck and it didn't help that I have always been a shy person. Shyness was and still is my biggest weakness and ironically I'm a J-POP idol. Singing on stage? Sure. Dancing on stage? Sure. But talking to new people? Yucks. I'm terrible at that and I'm still learning to overcome it by forcing myself in these kind of situations (that I'm obviously starting to regret but can't step down now, right?). That was one of the reasons why I've never had any friends (that I made by myself because usually people approach me first).

Tsutomu entered the gym first to talk to the coach while we were standing outside awkwardly, waiting for the verdict (lmao I watched too much of Law & Order: SVU).

"What are you doing here?" someone with a husky voice spoke.

I flinched a little, thankfully I didn't cuss out because it was the volleyball team's captain, Ushijima-san.

"Oh, hey! We got invited by Tsutomu-san to watch his, umm I mean your team practice. If you don't mind?" I replied to his question. He did not seem amused when I told him that. Just another person who dislikes me. No biggie, right?

"I don't mind you staying and watching. It couldn't hurt so why not?" Ushijima blankly stated and looked the other way. I couldn't believe my ears at first because I genuinely thought he would reject the idea of us watching their practice.

"Yoshida-san, Agawa-san! The coach said he doesn't mind. Just don't make too much noise!" Tsutomu came jogging towards us, ushering us to come in. Agawa and I took off our outside shoes and put our my volleyball shoes and walked towards the bench where the coaches were sitting.

"Thank you for having us!" we greeted the coaches, thanking them for letting us watch.

"Hi, it's no problem! We heard you two are friends with Goshiki and you must be Yoshida Sana and Agawa Mizuki, right?" the younger and taller coach spoke first while pointing at me and Agawa respectively, trying to remember our names.
