he came like a whisper
left like a dream
nothing to prove he had ever been.
but the tears in the other boy's eyes
and his trembling lips
are the witness of his first kiss,
his first love,
and his very first heartbreak.
nothing felt good after that,
...
break my heart, you slipped away didn't know I was wrong never meant to hurt you now you're gone;

Blinking through bleary eyes, Jungkook tries to gain his bearings, images of last night flashing through his head.
It wasn't a dream? It was real.
He smiles, rolling over and burying his face into the pillow, his heart pounding rapidly in his chest.
Jungkook never thought Taehyung would like him back. They have been friends for so long and Taehyung had always meant more to Jungkook, but he never imagined it'd be a two-way street. He had never felt like this before. So whole, so happy.
Letting out a little squeal, he rolls back over, unable to hide the sappy grin on his lips. That is until he realizes the reason for his excitement is nowhere to be found. He's hit with a wave of confusion before it turns to worry.
Taehyung's not sleeping or in the bathroom.
Hastily, Jungkook gets dressed, wondering where Taehyung could be. After last night, Jungkook expected him to be here this morning. He shakes his head, running his fingers through his hair as he tries to push the frustration away.
Taehyung's dealing with a lot right now. It's fine. He probably just went to get breakfast or something.
Pulling out his phone, Jungkook calls him only to have it go straight to voicemail.
Damn it.
He had his shoes on and was about to leave to search for Taehyung when the door opens and there he is.
Jungkook's heart thuds in his chest as he takes him in. Taehyung looks terrible with red-rimmed eyes and dark circles under them. His face is hard, void of emotion, and for the first time in a really long time Jungkook couldn't read him. That's so strange.
"You okay?" Jungkook asks, taking a small step in his direction and tucking his phone back into his pocket.
Taehyung releases a breath, hands gripping the back of his neck. "I'm not."
Of course he's not. Stupid question, Jungkook. He just lost his mom. The thought makes Jungkook's stomach twinge; it's such a gutting feeling. "I'm sorry, that was a stupid question. I wasn't thinking."
"It's fine," Taehyung mutters, shoving his hands into his pockets as he stares at the floor.
Okay...
"Do you want me to get you anything? Have you eaten yet?" Jungkook didn't know what to say or do, and he suddenly felt weird. He shouldn't though, right? Not after everything that's happened.
Taehyung looks up from the floor, and Jungkook watches as something shifts behind his eyes before he closes it off. His eyes ping back and forth and he releases a long breath, like he's trying to figure out what to say. A sudden sense of dread hits Jungkook because he knows something is wrong with Taehyung other than just his mom.
