"YOU trying to give me another scar?" Anakin teased as they trained with blunt swords. Araminta darted backwards, false blade whistling through the air at the speed of her movements. She narrowed her golden eyes at her target, readjusting her form slightly, shifting her weight on her heels.

Araminta jeered at him. "Maybe it'd shut you up."

"I know other ways you can shut me up," Anakin teased.

She darted forward, sliding past his jab and spinning around. Her free hand twisted his arm and she kicked out his leg in quick succession, causing him to drop the blunt sword with a clatter on the training room floor. She then proceeded to slam him to the ground using her bodyweight and a strong grapple.

Anakin let out a breath at the impact, looking up at her with wide blue eyes. Araminta grinned down at him, tilting her head innocently.

"There," she said.

"Believe it or not, that's not what I had in mind," Anakin grunted, sitting up. Araminta held out a hand, helping him to his feet, having to brace against the extra weight.

By momentum, he almost smacked into her, chest to her nose. Araminta playfully shoved him away, giving him a smug look that she knew would bait him as he retrieved his sword from the ground.

"Again?" Araminta asked, tail twitching.

Anakin raised his eyebrows. "You feel like losing again?"

"Hey, it's your back and the ground, Skywalker," she snipped.

Anakin narrowed his eyes. "I– Master," he said abruptly.

Araminta turned around quickly to see Obi-wan making his way across the training room floor. "Kenobi," she greeted.

"Suddenly it's three years ago," Obi-wan mused, looking between the pair.

"Just some friendly competition, Master," Anakin assured him.

"I'm sure," Obi-wan said lightly. His gaze turned to his assigned bodyguard. "Araminta, a moment?"

"Sure." She handed her wooden sword off to Anakin, fingers brushing.

Araminta followed after Obi-wan, the Jedi stopping just outside the door to the training room they had taken up. It was the middle of the day, pale light streaming in through the large windows in the Temple.

"I'm glad to see you using the off-time wisely," Obi-wan told her. "It is a wonder Anakin managed to convince you."

"He nagged– I wanted him to stop," Araminta snorted.

"I'm sure," Obi-wan said. "I know I'll feel safer in the field if you have a lightsaber."

Araminta thought of the wooden swords smacking against each other, and shrugged. "We're not quite there yet."
