Before the two of them had even sat down and made a set of rules, there was one that was set in stone before Nyoko had even written it down.

Neither one of them was allowed to be at the other's house.

That meant if they were going to hang out with Mio, it would have to be at Mio's house or somewhere in public. Both Toji and Nyoko liked their privacy and respected the other, so the rule was easy to pass.

It didn't take long for the two to see each other again. The day after their meeting at the cafe they meet at the same one and discussed what rules they would have. Toji was surprised to see Nyoko show up with a notepad and laptop.

"Is that really necessary?" Toji questioned.

The computer played a little jingle as it turned on. "I just like to be organized." She whispered.

"Alright, as long as you don't make me sign anything." Toji leaned back in his seat and took a bite of his food.

"No, as long as we both agree." Nyoko hid her face behind her computer screen. Was it that stupid of an idea to have them sign? Would a verbal agreement be enough? "What would you like the first rule to be?" She asked once she finally had an empty document open.

"Well, I don't want to involve my family. I'm fine with meeting yours, but mine doesn't need to know." Toji huffed.

"That's fair. But it was never something you really had to worry about." She started typing. "I'll still put it down to ease your conscience."

"Thanks." Toji muttered under his breath. He had half a feeling that Nyoko was desperate enough that she would try to turn this into a real thing.

"Ok, my rule." Nyoko already had it typed out. "I'm fine with kissing, but we shouldn't do it unless we have to. We should kiss whenever we say goodbye and greet each other. But other than that, we should have some sort of signal."

"What kind of signal?"

Nyoko looked at Toji, she furrowed her brows and scrunched up her nose for just a second. "Does that work?"

He let out a dry chuckle. He had to admit whatever she just did was cute. "Sure."

"Your next rule."

"You always have to look me in the eyes when you talk to me. I'm tired of this shit where you look anywhere else, it makes me uncomfortable."

"Okay." She said quietly. Her fingers stretched out, hesitating before she began to type it out. "Do you ever wear anything other than sweats?"

Toji looked down at his outfit. In the three times they had seen each other Toji had only been wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. "What's wrong with what I wear?"

"It's not presentable." Nyoko sighed as she pulled her cardigan tighter around her. Today she was wearing a long low-cut skirt that reached down just above her ankles, and a white long sleeve. Since it was autumn Nyoko had layered a cardigan on top.

"Would it be better if I were shirtless?" Toji smirked.

Nyoko blushed. "No. You should at least have one dress shirt and pants." She typed it down so there was nothing Toji could do now. "If you need money for it I can give you more."

Toji raised a brow and the scar on the side of his face pulled up. Nyoko noticed this and immediately spoke up. "I will go shopping with you."

He wondered if half the reason she made that rule was to get back at him for the rule about making eye contact. Two could play that game. "I want you to wear your natural hair."
