A/N:
I didn't really know much about Japanese weddings, so I did some research for this chapter. If I got something wrong, please correct me. Even though they're just fictional characters I still want everything to be as accurate as possible.
"I can't believe I haven't seen you in months." Mio hugged Nyoko tightly. When she pulled away her hands flew to her stomach. "And your bump is so cute!"
Nyoko laughed. She took a step away and held onto Mio's hands. "I guess I should introduce you to everyone." Nyoko turned to the two women behind her. "This is Emica, my mother. And Nozomi, she's married to my grandfather."
Mio narrowed her eyes at Nozomi. "I know it's rude to ask, but we're both women. How old are you?"
Nozomi laughed. "Forty-six."
"How old is your husband?"
Nozomi raised a brow. "Very old."
"Game is game." Mio shrugged as she sat down on Nyoko's bed next to her kimono. She smoothed her fabric down with her hands, enjoying just how expensive she could tell the fabric was based on the feel.
The door slid open and Megumi walked in. "Hey Nyoko."
"Megumi." Nyoko smiled, then frowned. "Aren't you supposed to be helping your father?"
Megumi shrugged. "I needed a break and he's already dressed."
"That's Toji's kid?" Mio looked at Megumi with wide eyes."He's older than I thought he would be."
"How old did you think I was?" Megumi turned his nose up at Mio. Nyoko had a feeling the two wouldn't get along well.
Mio raised her hand lower than how tall Megumi was. "However old you are when you're that tall."
Megumi rolled his eyes.
Mio turned to Nyoko. "Well I see the resemblance."
"Megumi," Toji poked his head into the room. "Stop bothering your mother, she needs to get dressed."
Mio walked over to the door and pushed Toji's face out of the door with her hand. "Get out of here!"
"Mio, don't be rude to him." Nyoko placed a hand Megumi's back, ushering him out of the room. She walked out of her room and pulled Toji into a hug. He kissed her, remembering that next time he kissed her it would be as husband and wife. "I love you."
"I love you, but I need to get dressed." Nyoko walked back into her room, savoring the sight of Toji in his montsuki as she closed the door.
"I can't believe you took that man back." Mio muttered to herself. Nyoko laughed but didn't say anything.
"Let's get you dressed dear." Emica picked up one of the first articles of clothing. Nozomi, Emica, and Mio helped Nyoko dress in her many layers. The last layer they dressed her in was her uchikake. A beautiful robe of white with green and blue patterns towards the bottom that started to pane out the higher the design got. Nyoko wanted colors that symbolized them, blue for her family, and green for him. The last thing they gave her was the tsunokakushi, a white headdress. Ever since she was little, Nyoko always hated the look of the tsunokakushi. She at least hated parts of it. So Nyoko changed it, instead of doing just plain white fabric she went with a lace, giving it a see through look which showed her white hair underneath.
All three women gasped.
"You look gorgeous." Nozomi smiled.
Emica had tears in her eyes. "My little girl."
