"Sometimes the solution is right infront of your eyes, you just have to relax, to see it"
(Isla's pov)
And just like that another day started and came to an end, I opened the restaurant at the start of the day, and closed it at the end of the day, then I again went to look for a chef... since Liam doesn't want to... but again all my efforts were in vain.
And it's not only about cooking, I need more staff, I'm the only one who handles everything, cooking, cleaning and everything, it's hard.
What if I make another visit to the pawnshop? Maybe mr genie will give me a solution.
With that thought, I change my way to the bus stop near my house, instead of going back to my house.
....
Getting back home, after a tiring day, I take a cold bath, with a towel wrapped around my waist, and water still dripping from my hairs and my body, I walk to the closet to get my clothes.
But as soon as I open the closet, my eyes fall on the catastrophe infront of me.
That doll. Disappeared, or more like it vanished in thin air infront of my eyes.
The owner of the pawnshop gave me that doll. Saying if Isla is ever in danger because of my pawn back then, this doll will let me know and if she ever pawns then the doll will disappear...
What happened that you had to pawn Isla?
I hurriedly put on my clothes, and run towards her house. Only to see her getting on the pawnshop bus. No! Not again! You already pawned once, I can't let you do that again.
My mind screamed inside me, and my legs automatically running towards her, pushing her away from the bus door, and getting in myself, she stood there, still. Disbelief etched on her face and eyes.
Without turning my face towards her, I wait until the bus takes off. As the bus left from her sight, a wave of relief ran inside me, making me fall to my knees.
Soon, the bus reached the pawn shop, and I rush inside.
"How could you let isla pawn?"
"And why did she pawn?"
"You said she will be happy! Why is she pawning now then?" as I slammed my hands on his desk, I showered the owner with questions, agitation covering my voice."Calm down, take a seat first" the owner said, in a composed voice, sitting like a king on his chair.
"You!-" I take a deep breath, and took the seat as he suggested.
"Explain yourself" I demanded In a cold and stern voice, staring him right in the eye, with my hands crossed on my chest.
"Now now, no need to be so serious" the owner said, with a smile on his face.
While I answered him with nothing but absolute silence."Her mom is in a come, she don't have money for her treatment, so she came to pawn for that, but her feelings weren't strong enough, then she ended up pawning for her restaurant to start getting customers" He explained, in arrogant tone, as if it's nothing.
"How could you let her pawn?" I asked, completely disappointed.
"How could I not?" He answered the question with a question In that same arrogant tone and arrogant look on his face.
"She was a customer who came to get her wish fulfilled, and this shop is equal to everyone" the owner of the shop added changing the look on his face as well.
Sighning, I stand up to leave,
"You can't change what universe has decided for you, universe knows the best" the owner said, as I was leaving, his voice echoing In the entire pawnshop, making all the bells ring too.I got back home, sitting on the sofa with my head in between my hands, looking for a way to help her, to stop her from pawning, to defy what universe has written, but how?
Not knowing that sleep is slowly possessing me, I fall asleep, maybe for now, sleep is the only way out. Isla I hope you are sleeping too.
The morning sky lit up the dark night sky, the rays falling on my face, waking me up from my slumber, just as I opened my eyes, my mind strucked, a idea entered.
She wants to get her wishes fulfilled and that's why she is going to the pawnshop, but what if I help her make her wishes fulfilled? Then she will have no reason to go to the pawnshop.
And the deal was to not chase her or be in a relationship again, it won't be a problem if I just help her as her... staff.
The sun, the morning, came with the solution that I kept looking for the entire night, maybe things weren't always as hard as i thought them to be.
It's a... Good morning. After getting ready, I make my way to her house, on the way my mind filled with various thoughts, above all knowing the fact that so much happened to her and now she is suffering when all I wanted for her to be happy, that thought. That fact aches my heart.
Here I'm back in this place again, that same bustling street, those same buildings and same old neighbors remind me of many old things.
I push in the glass door, walking inside, once this place used to be one of our spot, somehow this place didn't change at all, the remnants of fire arr no longer visible, this looks just like a normal restaurant, no one will be able to guess the tragedy that happened here.
Almost all the tables are full, her wish seems to be going well.
I make my way to the kitchen, fully aware of the whole layout of this place,
In the kitchen, infront of the gas stove, she stood, overwhelmed by the orders. You have a habit of overestimating yourself Isla. At times you have to ask for help.
I take a few more steps towards Isla, then I call out her name.
"Isla?" I call out her name, slowly but loud enough for her to be able to hear it in between the noise of the customers and kitchen equipments. She turned around to the voice that called her name, looking me in the eye, with a confused look on her face.
"Liam?" She asked in a shocked voice, her eyes wide disbelief written in them with a look of confusion written on her face."Yeah"
"Is your offer about hiring me as your chef still available? I asked in a stern voice with a little bit of a smile on my voice."What, oh yes ofcourse!" She answered, gleefully clapping her hands.
"But wha-"
"Don't you want me?" I asked, cutting her off, not giving her a chance to speak.
"What no ofcourse I do" she answered with full energy, her face and eyes sparkling.
"Then we will deal with the customers right now, and discuss our contract when it's time to close for the day" I said, walking to the gas stove, taking her place and looking at the orders.
"Sure!" Isla agreed clapping her hands out of excitement.
"Thankyou" she added in a low but sincere voice, her voice was low enough to not let anyone hear it, but I did, I heard you.
