~fourth of July-sufjan Stevens~

In the quiet of the night, my little dove,
I hear your cries, your heart's ache and love.
I left you behind, the pain hard to bear,
But know in my absence, I hold you dear.

In our little Versailles, where memories reside,
I made a choice, though it tore me inside.
The hospital's question, a final goodbye,
Yet in the heavens, you soar, my star in the sky.

Wrapped in cloth, a bittersweet embrace,
I wonder if you find peace in that space.
Oh, my dragonfly, so fragile and bright,
Do you see the stars, do they guide you through the night?

Let's gaze at the moon, my loon, my dear,
In its gentle glow, let go of your fear.
Embrace the light, make the most of your days,
In this fleeting life, in its mysterious ways.

So cry if you must, let your tears flow free,
For in each drop, a piece of you and me.
But remember, my love, in the darkness and light,
You are my treasure, my beacon, burning bright.
