I found her out by the train tracks,
Beneath the whispering pines,
Where rust and memory intertwine—
The iron rails bear witness,
To the stories left behind.

I like to imagine it was peaceful,
That she chose the sun's soft fade,
Nestled in shadows, drifting slow,
A gentle lullaby played,
While the world rushed on, unaware.

But I know that's not the truth,
The trains still rumbled, loud and stark,
Life's relentless pace, a heavy choke,
Dreams derailed in the dark.
Her last breath lost amidst the steel,
In a place where echoes linger still.

Was it a decision or a cruel twist of fate,
To lie quiet where the wind sighs low?
Crushed by the weight of history,
In the twilight's final glow—
There's beauty in the stillness,
Yet sorrow wraps its arms around,
A tender heart once vibrant,
Now a ghost amongst the ground.

But in my mind, she's sleeping sound,
Wrapped in dreams of endless skies,
Where trains don't roar, and pain is lost,
In the calm of the night, she flies,
I'll carry her soft story,
In the spaces 'tween the tracks,
And find her in the quiet,
Where peace finally relaxes.
