My phone rings,a notification pops up,its 5:23 am in the morning,my phone keeps ringing and someone is blowing up my phone,i wonder who it is since ive got no friends at all,i grab my phone and check the notification bar. An unknown number?..who the hell even is this.
?: Hi,are you asleep,Erik?
Erik: Whos this,how did u get my phone number?
?: Its Leo,my sister Annie gave it to me,she told me youre in her math class.
Erik: oh,hi Leo,um yes i was asleep,youre Annies brother?
Leo: yes,i am,sorry i woke you up now go head to sleep again.
Erik: oh haha,no, let's talk!
Leo: if you say so,sure,Erik how old are you ?
Erik: im 16!
Leo: oh,alright.
We talked till my eyes couldnt take it anymore and so i said goodnight to him even though it was already morning by the time we stopped talking..
I feel an unexpected hand on my shoulder and i began to be moved side by side,i open my eyes and it was Ethan.
Ethan: wake up,youre late for work! he yells at me as if its the end of the world,i could see he just woke up as well cus his hair was a mess and he was still in his pjs.
Erik: 5 more minutes please, i didnt get much sleep.. A notification pops up on my phone again,Ethan looks over to see whos messaging me and picks up the phone,his face goes from a smile to a genuine frown.
Erik: is that Leo? can you tell him im in a rush, please. As i try to grab my phone from his hand he backs up and nods in agreement.
I get up and get ready for work,oh my boss is going to kill me for being so late,when im almost ready i realize i never got my phone back from Ethan and now i began to wonder if he already red what i talked ab w Leo last night,i hope he didnt do such thing thats literally invading my privacy. I go to his room and enter it without thinking twice to knock on it.
Ethan: GET OUT CANT YOU SEE IM FUCKING SHIRTLESS? he yells at me and it scares the living hell out of me.
Erik: OH MY GOD IM SO SORRY,i say while covering my eyes. I JUST WANTED MY PHONE BACK! while i leave the room in a rush.
I waited 15 minutes for him to get out and hand me my phone,i dont even know what took him so long,all he had to do is throw on a shirt and some pants gosh did he actually read my conversation with Leo?..
Ethan: there you go you freak,next time you should knock,got it? He hands me my phone.
Erik: yeah..sorry ab that,what did u even do w my phone till now? i told you to js send back a message and thats it,i didnt tell you to take it w you. I say while i snatch the phone out of his hand.
Ethan: nothing,i didnt think you would mind me keeping it till youre all ready for work now go wait in the car for me,ill be there in a minute. He goes in the bathroom shutting the door behind him so i couldnt get a word back to him.
I go wait for him in the car and i check my phone..my conversation with Leo,he in fact sent the message i told him to but it still doesnt explain why he took my phone. Leo didnt even reply back he js left me on seen.
I get to work and open up the store late,i got scolded by my boss but i promised her i wont do this again,upon opening the store and again rearranging things around there i hear the doors open,it was Leo..again,does he know my schedule already? no way,im being delusional..but why is he the first one to enter the store like always..maybe he does know when i open up.
Erik: Good evening! everything alright here,Leo?
Leo hands me a 20 dollar bill.
Erik: What do you need?
Leo: cigs. Hes looking at me as if he hates me,whats wrong with him? why is he giving me such look..I hand him the cigs.
Erik: Have a good day!
Leo: dont forget to block my phone number. He says as he leaves the store and i froze in place,block his number? why? what happened? I go after him,something i cant do while im on my shift only for emergencies.
Erik: Leo,wait! I yell after him but he wont stop walking to his car,i run a bit and grab his arm. Whats wrong? why block your phone number,i dont understand.
Leo: what the fuck is wrong with you Erik, i regret texting you,i didnt even knew you could be such prick,looking like a guy who knows nothing but fucking school and thats it yet hes being such a fucking jerk. He says while looking down at me making me feel my heart into my throat and my legs going numb.
Erik: I dont understand..i didnt even do anything! i stutter while i speak and trying to avoid his eyes,looking down into the pavement.
Leo: oh wow so youre just going to act as if you didn't cuss me the fuck out and told me to never contact you through texts? do you think im fucking stupid? all i wanted was to be your friend but now i regret ever wanting that. As he turns his back to me and reaches for the door handle of his car.
Erik: what? no,i never sent any messages to you,please let me explain i wasn't the one who sent them! As i grip onto his arm tighter,Leo pulls his arm away forcefully.
Leo: you literally think im a fool? YOU sent those messages its literally your fucking phone, now just leave me alone,weirdo. He gets into his car and speeds off while i feel tears running down my face,tears of anger because i know who sent those messages and i cant believe he did such shit,he knew i cant feel love towards anyone and the fact that i felt something for Leo made him mad,is he mental why does he wanna ruin my life,im gonna pack my bags and leave the second i get home from work. The next hours were living hell for me i couldn't focus on anything,all i did was overthinking this shitty situation.
Once i got home i slam the door behind me and go into my bedroom,started packing my stuff,my clothes,my books,everything. No trace of me is going to be left behind in this shit house. As i walk to the door so i can leave forever the fact that he sent those messages pops up in my head immediately, i turn back and go into his room and start tossing around his belongings, everything was ruined or broke,just like he ruined my moment of joy with Leo. I hope he gets cheated on in every single relationship hes ever going to have.
