Court day

Ellie's PoV

"Le you ready" I shout up to Leah from the bottom of the stairs. I pace back through to where Katie and Caitlin are sat holding the babies. Today is court day and I'm terrified. Of course it was leaked to the press about what happened to me and it hit the front pages how I'm suing the hospital for negligence etc.

"Babe" I look at Katie who's talking to me.

"You need to calm down your making the twins feel your anxiety everything is going to be fine"

"I know I just don't want to come across as the evil monster who is suing the people who saved my life"

"Your not your suing the person who nearly took your life"

"I didn't want all this"

Katie stand up and holds me close.

"I know you didn't and you didn't deserve it but it can't happen again to someone who may not be as lucky as you"

"I know, thank babs what would I do without you" I whisper into her ear.

"Not a lot your life would be so boring"

I can't help but laugh at Caitlin rolling her eyes at Katie's words.

As we pull apart Leah walks into the room and fuck me she look amazing.

"Stop biting your lip we have guests" Leah teases me.

"Yeah please stop I don't want to see what Katie tells me about" Cait giggles.

I glare hard at Katie. "Really"

"Oh you know what me and Cait do so there are no secrets"

I take Leah's hand a just walk out shaking my head.

"Bye" we shout as we leave.

Leah's PoV

Okay so I always thought I had bad nerves in football but today my nerves are greater and I think it's because I need to protect my girl. I pace upstairs el still thinks I'm getting ready but I'm not. I'm going to have to relive the worst day I ever experienced all over again. Yes we have two beautiful babies but I nearly lost my everything.

As we travel in the car to the court my mother and Ellie's already there. We pull up. El asks the driver for a quick second I can see how nervous she is as she shakes.

"Baby you got this"

"I know I'm just scared I guess"

"You have the best lawyer and her team defending you"

"I know"

Ellie's mother put together the best team for el as obviously she couldn't represent her daughter as she didn't want any conflict of interest interfering.

"You ready....i got you el"

I lean in and place a soft kiss on her lips.

"Let's go"

"That's my girl" I smile as the door opens the flashes non stop. Fuck the paparazzi I hate them with a passion.

As we walk in the chaos from outside now shut off by the heavy glass door. We walk to the room we're in and that's when I see Ellie's face light up. Her mother stood waiting.

"Mum" she shouts and runs to her like she's a kid again. The need for her mother's protection shining through.

I hug my mum who's stood there. I listen to el and her mother talk and she gives a brief on what's to come.

An hour into the court case

"To conclude; from all the evidence the hospital has willingly provided, the witness statements and the information gathered here today there is a strong indication of negligence shown towards Mrs Ellie Williamson.

A young expectant mother whose life could have easily been taken in a split second due to the incalculable consequences in which was put upon her. The fact that a consultant was left to perform a procedure whilst under the influence and no one said a thing, no one stood up and stopped him this is undeniably the most shocking news to reach myself throughout my career.

It is with pleasure that I award Mrs Williamson the payout of £250 million for her suffering and stress not only on herself but her loved ones. I demand a change in the hospitals policies and updates in training. I will also demand that the consultant who carried out this procedure is sent before the Governing body he resides under to have his license provoked. I also wish that the staff involved are dealt with appropriately and are given training.

With this being said the case is closed and I hope Mrs Williamson that you live a happy and healthy life raising your babies and I wish you all the luck in the future"

Ellie's PoV

I stand and I listen to everything the judge has to say. I sit next to Leah holding her hand tight and when he reads out the sum I would receive from compensation I feel like I could faint. I never wanted anything, I just wanted this to be over and for changes to be made so it doesn't happen again. I don't even want the consultant who was under the influence to be dismissed from his job I just want him to get help.

All cameras are on me and I know it's being televised. I need to make this right I can't do this.

I stand up. The legal team trying to get me to sit.

"No sorry I need to say something. Thank you for your kind words your honour but can I please say a few things"

"Of course Mrs Williamson."

I turn to the court.

"Okay....erm" I feel Leah's hand squeeze mine I look at her and she mouths "you got this"

"I agree with everything you said; yes this shouldn't have happened, yes I was on life support for a while and I could or should have died. But I didn't I'm here today with the scars to show that. I'm here today because the amazing team at the hospital in question saved my life. A mistake happened and I know it shouldn't of"

I turn to the consultant in question.

"I know you regret everything that happened that day and I know you need help. I ask you this if I help you get help will you take it, will you take the chance to practice again but ensure you take regular drug tests throughout your career to keep your career?"

"Well of course I would but I don't deserve it"

" maybe you don't but I couldn't take this away from you. Your brought my babies into this world, my not so little babies now but I couldn't picture a world without them in it and you did that for me"

"Thank you" he mouthed to me his wife hugging his side.

"One last thing your honour, the money that has been awarded to myself. I would like to donate £50 million of it back to the hospital. I would love for them to invest into development so this would never happen again"

"If you agree that is acceptable by the court. You Mrs Williamson are a treasure...court adjourned"

I let out the biggest breath.

"You did it my girl your amazing more calm than I would ever be. But that's why I love you" Leah whispers to me as we hug.

"Can we go home to our babies I need cuddles"
