The Announcements

Ellie's PoV

Months have passed and I have completed my farewell album. It's a double album and I won't lie I think it's my best work to date. The babies have grown so much in the last months they turned two recently and are getting into all sorts of trouble. Keeping me and le on our toes for sure. As I sit watching the kids play in the garden I feel Leah's arms wrap around me.

"Hey baby"

"Hey you, penny for your thoughts"

I pull Leah's arms around so she's sat on my lap.

"I need to put out a post to tell my fans about my farewell tour, I guess I just don't know what to say"

"Follow what's in your heart el, it will make perfect sense then" I smile at Le.

I shout the babies over and they come like a f1 car I swear there's so quick.

"Mummy wants a picture of her favourite people" I say as me and Leah pull them onto our laps.

"Cheeeeessssseeee" we all say and I snap away. Before they run off again.

"I tell you all you le"

I watch as she smiles at them kicking the footballs around.

"You gutted"

"A little, but I'm happy in what ever they choose to like"

"Yeah okay your dying for one of them to mess with your instruments" Leah laughs

I tickle her sides "am not" I wink.

I put the picture up of me Leah and the kids. And under I write my statement.

"As an OG busking girl I never quite thought my life would turn out the way it did. From singing on the street making pennies to winning a tv show and then making music for a living I am living a dream I once dreamt of.

I made fans, friends and a huge following, I helped change the way music is heard, one person with many styles of music it was never heard of.

Now is the time for me to let you all in on a little something that's been happening for many months. It's time to let you all know that I am going on tour.

'The farewell tour'

As I sit here with tears running down my cheeks, my wife sat on my knee and my children playing in the garden I smile at all the memories I've made with all of you.

This decision hasn't come lightly and I know it's time so here it is.

This is my last tour. The tour of all tours. From here on out Ellie Williamson will be stepping back from singing and focusing on being a mother and a wife.

I will be working at mine and Leah record label bringing you the best music from the most amazing artists old and new.

Life is a blessing and one in which I found can be taken in a heartbeat. I want to focus on memories and making them with my family and friends. As many don't know, the career I have takes me away from this for months at a time, many missed birthdays, missed anniversaries, missed bedtime routines to make music for all of you.

So, saying all of this I will now give to you all a double album and a fucking great send off.....so who's ready to party one last time."

I read and re read what I have written Leah stroking my hair.

"Sounds good baby" she whispers

That's all I needed for my finger to hit the post button.

Leah's PoV

Proud doesn't even cut it. I'm so proud of my wife and she makes me want to be as brave as she is.

"El I....erm"

I take a deep breath.

"Le what is it?"

"Would you mind if I posted mine today as well announcing my step down"

"Of course not baby why would you think that"

"I don't know maybe because people might think I'm trying to take your shine"

"Fuck what others think, today's the day let's hit everyone with a double whammy I mean we should be used to them" I laugh and nod at the twins.

"We do love things in twos" I laugh.

"What pictures are you picking" el asks

"I'm thinking maybe my first international game all the way up to my last one the picture with us and the babies"

"Sounds good to me. Do you know what your going to write"

"No el I'm not good with my words"

"Write from your heart" el says mimicking what I said.

"As a young girl I always dreamed of playing for my country never did I think I'd have the opportunity to captain it. To see where football has come from to where it is now has made me incredibly proud. To be a lioness and show the world what we are capable of I'll never live it down.

But right now I feel is the right time for me to hand up my captain armband and step away from international duties. I have grown over the last few years from being a solo football loving woman, to becoming a wife and now a mother I feel I need to spend more time making memories.

I will be honoured to captain the lionesses one last time before handing over my armband to the next captain to lead the way.

I just want to thank you all for your amazing support and understanding and I hope to see you all in the stands when we win you another trophy"

I read and re read like Ellie did and then I hit post.

"All done baby" I whisper.

"Time to make lasting memories in our careers baby before making more with these two" Ellie says kissing me softly.

Ellie's PoV

We sit for a few hours in the garden the twins tiring themselves out and we get them ready for bed before we sit and snuggle watching tv as a family.

As we sit mine and Leah's phones are going mental. We smile at each other knowing it will be everywhere and that it was even on the news. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I'm ready to be present in my kids lives. I will make my father proud and be there for them whenever they need me.
