Toby Grier; Vampire
Previously:
"I'm a witch."My breath catches. Samantha is not a witch. She just wants to mess with me.
"Whatever, Sammi." I push her shoulder playfully. "I think I would have known you had magical powers." I roll my eyes at her and wink.
"Toby..." She takes a deep breath. "Toby, I do have powers."
I inhale.
"Toby, look at your necklace. The one that looks just the same as Ashley's. The one I gave you."
I touch the chain that hangs around my throat and the green emerald that connects to it.
"What about it." I demand.
"Well..."
"What, Sammi?!" I scream, and she flinches. I take a deep breath and collect my wits before continuing. "What the hell is it."
"It's protection. Against magic. Those girls in Ashley's cabin...they scared me."
"This is worse than I thought..." I mumble.
I meet her confused expression before laying the plan.
"We need to get Ashley.""Knock knock!" I say before opening the door to Ashley's.
"Ashley, we need to talk. I have-"
"Shh!" I cut Sammi off.
It was rude, but I need to concentrate...
Someone has been here. It wasn't Ashley. It wasn't the annoying girls. It was someone else.
"Toby, what are you doing?"
I freeze, mid sniff. I forgot Sammi didn't know about me. Okay. How should I play this out?
"Sammi...Ashley isn't here. And someone else was. Help me find out who." I know she can.
Sammi furrows her eyebrows at me before closing her eyes, muttering under her breath. Soon her words become audible.
"Related to half sibling Seyeden Miers." And that's all I hear.
"Sammi...what did you find out?"
"What you heard."
"But you were muttering before that."
"I was sifting through information. Nothing important; don't get your panties in a bunch."
"Whatever. Sammi, you need to listen to me, okay? Our top priority is to make sure Ashley's safe. Then we need to figure out where she is. I need to tell the two of you something important. But I need to tell you something now. I'm not human, either, okay? Our goal will be much faster paced if we both quit the human charade. You go all witch. Got it?"
She takes a deep breath. "Got it."We proceed by searching Ashley's cabin.
The intruder has been in every room, has touched every object at least once, and has left us the exact location they will be in. They must have known Sammi and I would be here...I wonder what else they know...
There was a cell phone on Ashley's kitchen table. It was a flip phone. It was opened, on, and showing the text the intruder must've sent Ashley, which was how we knew where to go.It took no time to get there. Sammi and I can run really fast. And I mean...really.
The address took us to an old shack. The paint needed re-done, the windows needed repaired. It was dark inside, as it was beginning to be outside.
Sammi and I are greeted by Ashley's bloody-murder scream, so we both run inside, Sammi making her hand light up to illuminate the darkness.
What we see...is terrifying.{Hey, readers!
