y/n lost track of time in the other garden

y/n lost track of time in the other garden. the world around her was a mesmerizing tapestry of colors and textures, each petal and leaf more enchanting than the last. the garden seemed to pulse with life, almost as if it were breathing alongside her. she wandered through it with wide eyes, taking in the extraordinary beauty that surrounded her. it was like stepping into a dream—one she wasn't sure she wanted to wake up from.

she found herself drawn to a string of japanese bleeding hearts that littered along one of the stone walls, their delicate blossoms ranging from soft pink to pure white. the flowers dangled from their stems like tiny hearts, swaying gently in the breeze. y/n crouched down, her fingers hovering just above the petals, eager to feel their smooth surface. the plants seemed to quiver, almost alive in their motion, as if they were waiting for her touch.

but before she could make contact, a soft melody reached her ears. it was faint at first, a distant strain of music carried on the wind. she paused, her hand still outstretched, and listened more closely, her eyebrows knitting together in confusion. "do you hear that?" she asked, glancing over her shoulder at the other wybie.

he stopped what he was doing, his button eyes flicking toward her as he, too, listened. after a moment, he shrugged his shoulders, a look of innocent bewilderment crossing his face. the smile that followed was so adorable, so genuinely oblivious, that y/n couldn't help but feel her heart melt. just moments ago, she had been puzzled, but now she was simply charmed by his presence.

'how weird...' she thought to herself, still curious about the source of the music. was it the other mother playing somewhere in the house? no, that couldn't be it...she was too busy preparing dinner. alright, that just left one other option: the other father, but that also made no sense to y/n since she figured she wouldn't even be able to hear him play music from all the way out here, especially when he's in his study? the mystery gnawed at her, the urge to investigate growing stronger.

y/n straightened up, deciding to follow the sound. she took a step away from the string of hearts, intent on finding the source by going back to the house. there is no better place to start than there, right? but before she could get far, the other wybie suddenly moved in front of her, blocking her path.

"uh, wybie?" y/n blinked in surprise, her forward momentum halted. she looked up at him, unimpressed and a little embarrassed by the sudden intrusion. still, she didn't want to be rude—especially not to someone who had been nothing but kind to her so far. so, she forced a smile, trying to keep the situation lighthearted. "you think you can move out of the way...please?" she asked, her tone gentle but firm.

the other wybie tilted his head, considering her request. for a moment, y/n wondered if he would resist or try to stop her again. but then, much to her relief, he stepped aside, clearing her path. just as she was about to thank him and continue on her way, he did something that caught her completely off guard. with a shy, almost bashful expression, the other wybie held out his hand toward her, palm up.
