Lyla had been preparing herself for this voting and she knew she had it in the bag, possibly given that she was the adoptive daughter of Alan Grant, maybe people would respect her and see her as a good leader because Alan was also that in a way.
She went into the main living room where many ingen workers and the lawyers of the family that were attacked were gathered to see who would be their boss and for the lawyers, the downfall of John Hammond and hopefully his company.
There were two stands and mic's set up for her and Ludlow so they could speak to the people gathered and after a while John first came up and welcomed everyone, then introduced the speakers and told Lyla to go first.
Lyla went up to the speakers and said "hi everyone I'm Lyla grant, so mr Hammond here says that I'm a candidate for being a leader and I'll tell you why I should be chosen: for one I worked at the park back when I was 14 before the incident and it was a very good park and fun to work at. I met Alan here and Ellie sattler and Ian Malcom and John's grandchildren who I'm friends with. Anyways I'm a good leader because I know what should be done and I'm aware that a British family was attacked and with that being said if I was to become the head of ingen I would restrict public access to the island of isla sorna and if people wanted to go there they would need permission from myself or the vice. The Dino's wouldn't be allowed to be removed either. In terms of isla nublar that would be determined later."
She stepped away from the mic and a lot of people clapped for her but Ludlow knew what he had to do and so he got up and went straight out of the gate.
"What a good speech you gave Lyla but let me say that I discovered something that none of you may like. First of all you weren't born to Alan, and so that makes you his adoptive daughter, secondly I looked at your last name and it may ring a bell to some.. mayfield perhaps."
The audience gasped and some whispering started
"Now as I was saying your mother Danielle mayfield and your father Stephen mayfield aren't around, well your mother is dead but your father as far as I know is in jail. But the incident on sorna that caused the shutdown of the facilities many years back was caused by your mother and my good people of ingen you don't want the offspring of someone who caused the deaths of some of your friends and family to be leading you right?" The ingen workers all nodded in agreement and before anyone could start voting, Alan got up and said
"Thank you Mr Ludlow but I've been told that you plan to build another park right here in San Francisco, a park that if something like nublar happens. It's not going to affect just a few people. It'll be a whole city then what? A whole state, the whole country and then the whole world a world with dinosaurs roaming it like all those years ago."
People started to think about that and now the vote could have gone to anyone and so after John said "all in favour of Lyla being the head? Some hands were raised
"All in favour of Peter"
The majority ruled and Peter was now head of the ingen company and there was nothing John, Lyla or Alan could do or say about it.
AN: so next chapter will be the start of lost world. I expect two or more chapters for this arc and then I'll move on to Jurassic Park 3 which will be 1 chapter at least and then Jurassic world
