"If you like chicken nuggets then you gotta sing along~" Jongseob sung the song that he randomly heard from his sister once, whilst cooking some rice.

Jongseob decided to make a little breakfast with the remaining ingredients that they had.

He had felt bad about the day before, when his sister gave up her food for him.

"This is gonna be so yummy!" The boy excitedly clapped, accidentally waking up his sister in the process.

"What's all this, Seob?" She asked, rubbing her eyes due to still being sleepy.

"I'm making fried rice for us!"

Daeun smiled, " You're so thoughtful. I guess they did teach you something..." The girl trailed off, thinking back to their dead-beat parents.

"Eww. Definitely not. You taught be how to be like this." He smiled.

"You should get ready. Breakfast will be done soon." He turned back to his rice that was almost done.

The girl nodded, heading back to her room to get ready for school.

But then, Jongseob received a notification on his phone. He checked it out.

One of his "friends" from school tagged him in a post. On Instagram.

The picture showed Jongseob in some worn down clothes. The caption read "imagine being poor. I could never. Y'all stay safe"

Jongseob was saddened by what just happened.

He wanted to believe that not everyone is the same, the opposite of what his sister says. But people just make it so hard for him.

But still, Jongseob ignores the post.

He was still in his phone, when he smelt something burning.

He quickly turned to the rice he forgot all about.

It was burning.

Jongseob quick turned off the stove, hoping that some parts were still edible.

Not long after, Daeun came by back, since she was done getting ready.

"Why does it smell burnt in here?" She asked.

Jongseob felt bad for burning the only food that they had.

"Oh, did you burn it?" She asked, "I'll go shopping today. Make sure to eat breakfast at school, though."

The younger nodded, still feeling bad.

"It's okay, Seob. I'm not mad at you." She tested a hand on his shoulder.

He smiled sadly, but began to pack his bag for school, as he had no choice but to do so.

Once he was done, Daeun went to grab her bag, and they walked to school.

When Daeun reached her class, on time today, she saw that the same guy from the day before was sitting next to her seat.

She sat, ignoring him.

"Oh, hi!" He greeted the girl, getting silence as a response.

"So you're always this quiet, hm?" Choi Jiung looked at the girl.

She had a nice side profile, even Jiung thought so.

He looked at her siren eyes that were rich like chocolate. He admired how her nose came to the smallest point. Her eyebrows that weren't too thick, but not thin either. He saw her long, healthy eyelashes, hidden behind a clear glasses frame. And her lips. Her pink, plumpy lips that anyone would kill for.

Jiung thought she was very pretty, to say the least.

Jiung decided to leave the pretty lady alone, and focus on the lesson that his teacher was about to give.

It was now time to go home for some students, but others (like Daeun) had jobs to do.

Her schedule today was just like yesterday's.

So she told Jongseob to text her when he got home.

She received the text as she arrived at the diner.

Once she put on her apron, the new owner was already there.

"Oh Daeun! How are you?"

"I'm okay!" The said girl tried to sound as enthusiastic as possible. Talking with people other than Jongseob drained her.

The lady was sitting at the table with someone whose face was covered with the menu.

"That's good. How about you meet my son. It would be nice for the two of you to bond, since he will be working here with you."

Daeun just kept a fake smile plastered on her face.

"Son come here!" The lady motioned got her son to come to them.

Daeun watched this.

She watched the boy get up and go to his mother.

Daeun gasped when she saw who he was.

"Jiung?"
