"Order up." Daeun served a plate to the correct customer who ordered it.

It had been a week since the phone call with her mother. Daeun felt bad that her brother even had to interact with their mother, let alone talk to her.

She wanted to strangle her mother for not being there for her and Jongseob.

She has always just wanted the best for him.

"Jiung, can you serve now?" She asked him, hoping that he would say yes.

"Oh, yeah." He gave her a quick smile before walking to the front, serving orders.

'His smile is pretty nice.' Daeun thought to herself before slapping herself in the face.

"Get a grip, Kim Daeun. He could be dangerous to you, or Jongseob." She encouraged herself to focus on her job, school, and brother.

But how could such a cute, little fluff ball be dangerous?

"Uh Daeun?" The girl looked in the direction of her name being called, "I think your boyfriend's looking for you."

"Boyfriend?" Daeun questioned the orange-haired boys words.

"I don't know, he's blonde, tall..." Jiung trailed off.

"Oh! You mean Jongseob, my brother." Daeun laughed.

"Oh! Oops." Jiung scratched his nape, face flushing red in embarrassment.

Then scrunched her nose at the thought of her and Jongseob dating.

"Disgusting." She muttered under her breath.

"I've never heard you talk this much, or laugh. This is life changing!"

Daeun forced a poker face immediately, "Don't get used to it."

Then she took off her apron, clocked out, and went to her brother.

"Hey, Seob!" She waved at him.

"Hey! I was bored, so I came here!"

Daeun smiled, then she heard a voice behind her speak.

"Oh! You're Jongseob!" Jiung smiled, "I'm Jiung. Your sister is my friend."

Jongseob looked shocked. He never would have thought that his sister would have a friend, due to her constant questioning in humanity.

"You're not my friend." She coldly said.

"I never said that. I said that you're my friend." Jiung giggled, " Anyways, do you guys want some tteokbokki? I've been craving some for a while." Jiung rubbed his stomach.

"Actually, yeah. That sounds good!" Jongseob replied. Daeun hit his shoulder, reminding him that they have no money to buy the tteokbokki.

"It's my treat."

The siblings made eye contact.

"I'm in." Daeun said.

"Great!"

"Why is fire hot? Why not ice? And why is ice cold?" Jiung randomly questioned.

The evening has been filled with Jiung's constant talking. Jongseob chimed in a few times, and the two were chuckling together. Daeun just listened. Laughing at their jokes in her head.

"And which came first? The orange, or the color? The chicken, or the eg-"

Daeun cut him off before going any further, "Goodness, Jiung. You're such a yapper." Daeun rolled her eyes.

"Oh please, you love it. I bet I'm your favorite yapper." He stuck his tongue out at the girl.

"That's totally not true." She returned the tongue-sticking.

"Oh yeah? Then why are you arguing with me. You never argue with me when I'm not yapping."

"You're making no sense, Choi Jiung." She picked up her chopstick, and angrily ate another rice cake.

"I am making perfect sense. As a matter of fact, you're so glad that you have a friend like me. Hmph!" He crossed his arms.

Jongseob was just looking at the two, back and forth as if it was a tennis match.

"You guys are so dramatic and extra. Daeun, just call him your friend already!"

Jiung smiled in victory, "See, even your brother agreed. I should be your friend now."

Daeun pouted, "You guys are bullying me because I'm the only girl."

The two boys looked at each other before jokingly rolling their eyes.

"Fine." Daeun continued to eat.

"Finally! I've been waiting for so long!"

Daeun smiled. She was happy that she could make a new friend.

But she still had her doubts.
