Her first few classes were over, and Daeun was happy that the rest of her class was quiet, without that orange-haired guy bothering her.

Daeun headed down to the canteen, ready to eat lunch.

She had to give up her breakfast for Jongseob, so she was planning to have a big lunch to make up for it.

The girl was getting ready to pay for her food, when she felt her pockets.

Empty.

Daeun sighed.

She placed her tray back, trying to avoid looks from others who may have seen.

Daeun just walked outside, sitting on a bench. She enjoyed observing the trees swaying in the wind.

It was like music to her ears.

She decided to send Jongseob a quick text to ask how his school day was going.

While Daeun was in a state of serene, someone ruined it.

"Here." He handed her a cookie.

It was Jiung.

"I hope you're not allergic..." He trailed off, scratching his nape.

Daeun looked at him blankly.

"Oh, I saw you walk out the cafeteria without eating anything. I got concerned."

"I don't need you to be concerned about me."

Daeun stood up, grabbed her bag, and left the orange haired guy standing, dumbfounded with an cookie.

Jiung took a bite of it, sighing.

"This is gonna be a lot harder than I thought."

Daeun quickly sprinted to do her shift at the local diner.

Today was promotions day.

The diner was having a new owner, and she needed to make a good first impression.

Daeun needed this money.

To support both her and Jongseob.

She quickly changed inter her apron when she got there.

She then clocked in, and got to work.

After a few minutes, she heard the door chime.

A lady, with a business-ready outfit walked in.

Daeun thought that she must be the new owner.

She immediately put on a smile and greeted her.

As the woman approached, Daeun could see that she looked slightly familiar.

'Weird' she thought to herself, wondering where she could have seen this lady before.

"Hi! Im Choi Jana." The woman greeted, shaking Daeun's hand," I'm the new owner of this diner."

Daeun forced a smile, shaking the lady's hand back, "Kim Daeun, and it's a pleasure to meet you!"

"You too!" The woman continued, "Just for a heads up, my son will be starting to work here tomorrow."

Daeun nodded, faking an excited expression.

'Great! More people to deal with...'

After a few more hours, Daeun's shift was over, and she could finally head home.

She clocked out, changed out of her clothes, and walked home.

Daeun didn't live far from her job, so she reached her apartment rather quickly.

She was especially excited to just to dive straight into her blankets, and fall asleep.

"Hey, EunEun." Jongseob greeted his sister as she walked inside the cozy apartment.

"Hey, Seob" Daeun weakly smiled to her brother, "How was school?"

"Well, it was...school."

Daeun glared at the younger, "Did those kids ignore you again?"

Jongseob reluctantly nodded.

Daeun sighed, then remembered something.

She quickly ran to her room, in search of something. When she found it, she came back to her brother.

"I may not always be able to be beside you, and the kids at school may not always be there for you, but he can!" Daeun pulled out a stuffed teddy bear from behind her back. It had patched of all shapes and sizes sewn together, and button eyes.

She has hoped that her actions were enough to make the younger happy.

"This is Snuzzy Fluffgus." She handed the bear to him, "From Grandma when I was younger."

Jongseob smiled, "Why are you regifting?" He teased.

"Oh shut up and take him before I change my mind."

The latter accepted the gift with bliss and hugged it.

"Thanks, Eun."

The girl smiled, " Of course."

"Now go shower, you smell like onions."

"Gosh... you don't have to be so rude."
