His alarm went off at 5:45am.
Naruto woke up, got dressed for the gym and worked out for about an hour. Coming back home, he bathed himself squeaky clean. Buttons were pressed, a white board hit with sharp chops, then a blender whirred a wine as mixed fruits, protein powder, milk & yogurt created the perfect smoothie. Two hard boiled eggs with a piece of whole wheat toast were eaten. Cotton silk dressed his upper half, and fine twill for his bottoms. The set alone was about two thousand dollars.
For the past couple of days, he had his phone on Do Not Disturb, just so he wouldn't have to start his day off in a bad mood at whatever else people were saying. The comments didn't bother him, but more the publications themselves.
He usually texted Hinata once he was done with working out. But since her phone got stolen he couldn't do that.
It was Friday and that was the only thing looking good about today.
Black Gucci lace ups stepped on to the elevator, already occupied with familiar feminine faces. The young women were receptionists. Today it seemed they had packages to deliver to the other floors. They greeted him with a sweet and delicate " Good morning Naruto." And he gave a kind smile, "Good morning ladies."
Naruto always noticed that women were eager to strike up a conversation with him. Young, old, it didn't matter. In his first month, the receptionists were generally friendly however some of them had a certain locution that began to be a hair short of flirtatious. It was nice to be reminded that he was attractive, whether it was for his looks, obvious wealth or both. But the whiskered blonde only cared to be attractive to one woman. And so very quickly he let every receptionist know quite clearly (but of course without brusque) that he was a taken man.
These two in particular were always respectful and just friendly. So their short elevator conversation was pleasant. They asked about the drink in his paper cup: a plain latte, and he asked about the packages in their hand and if they needed any help.
On to the seventh floor, a quiet atmosphere greeted him. The morning sun had begun to cascade the other skyscrapers, bleeding light into the room. Kiba was at the receiving desk, already typing away but never failing to fist bump him. Sasuke was obnoxiously a minute early, because let's face it he always has to beat him at something. And lastly he saw only a few others who were required to be here earlier than the rest.
As the next hour passed, Naruto occasionally brought up his eyes to see who would come in. The time on the desktop read 8:15
Not yet.
8:25
Nope.
8:37
Ugh.
8:45
Ding!
White long sleeves, an adorable and fitted black vest, long black dress pants paired with black sling court heels walked out of the elevator. A memorized silhouette. He watched as she said good morning to Kiba. Greeted some others and then finally when her eyes casually trailed the room, until they landed on the glass open office space in the back, Hinata bit her inner cheek to hide her smile. He winked at her.
That was what Naruto needed to officially get his day started.
It went on,
and on,
and on.Kakashi came down later in the day, rallying him, Sasuke, Shikamari, Sakura and Toneri. Some people from the sixth floor joined the meeting and when it finally ended, it felt like five years had passed.
