·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ Aurelia [au-re-li-a] Jaime [hay · meh] *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙

Being back in the Blue Beetle lair the newness of it all had yet to disappear. The purple and blue hues surrounding the room makes it hard to think about what they were doing as normal - which it wasn't. After all they were looking for answers of the tech that made Jaime a superhero in an abandoned mansion that used to belong to a tech genius who died with a very well kept secret.

"Okay." Rudy groans as he sits on the chair before the computer screens "I've gone through the files. So... Ted had a professor, this guy named Dan Garrett."

Jaime leans against the desk next to Rudy while Jenny and Aurelia stand behind the one chair, "The Scarab chose this Garrett guy before it chose you, Jaime. And pinche Ted, ran tests on him to map out how the Scarab would react to the human body. So, once this Scarab goes up someone's ass-"

"It didn't go up my ass." Jaime protests but his words were truly taken with a grain of salt

"Mmhm," Aurelia hums not totally believing it considering the alternative would be the scarab cut Jaime's back and buried itself in his skin - neither being a good option.

Jaime pinches her waist in retaliation making her squirm and lightly hit his shoulder as a silent 'Watch it.'

"-Okay. Well, it connects to the brain and that's what it's trying to do to you, Jaime, connect to your brain. It's trying to become one with you."

"Why?" Jaime asks looking at his uncle not once looking at the data on the screen where Ted Kord had mapped out graphics of how the Scarab is connected to Garret's body

"I think you should ask it yourself. I mean, this thing has its own will," Rudy answers looking away from Jaime back to the screen making Jaime finally look at the information he'd been searching for the past day

"It talks to you," Aurelia says in awe at the information which considering Jaime seemed in control only some times, the fact that the Scarab has its own mind makes sense

"It's sentient." Jenny informs them eyes wavering away from the screen "That's why it chooses a host. That's why sometimes, it does what you want, and sometimes, it doesn't."

"Okay, well, who made it? Can they help us?" Jaime asks not having caught up with the text on the screens

Rudy chuckles, stopping his typing to answer, "This wasn't made on Earth, cabezon."
