In the morning
Meerab awoke from the sun's rays on her face, and she moved her hand to the other side to touch Murtasim, only to find the bed empty. Her heart seized with sudden fear, and when she turned to look in the other direction, Murtasim was gone. She felt beads of sweat form on her forehead and her heart rate quickened as a result of her fear of being abandoned once more. She stepped back to take a comfortable seat and felt like she was back in her suit. When she took off the blanket, she saw that she was fully clothed. Does it mean that night was real to her, or did she just dream about it? The thought of him abandoning her once more made her eyes well up with tears. His words of concern mean nothing if he does not stick by her side during difficult times.
She called out his name, "Murtasim... M...", and heard footsteps approaching from the door. She soon noticed that Murtasim was carrying two cups of coffee into the room. His smile vanished when he saw that she was crying. After setting the trey on the table, he hurried over to Meerab, asking herself why she was crying. Is that because it hurt or is it because of the fear? As he sat next to her, he saw that Meerab was perspiring, which worried him because he thought she would wake up sluggish as usual.
"Hey why you are crying? Is it hurting?" he inquired, gently placing his hand on her cheek. Murtasim wiped her tears and gently stroked her hair, giving Meerab time to explain herself before she shook her head and threw herself into a tight hug. She settled down after a minute, and he smiled when she kissed his cheek.
"Both times you left me, I thought..." she said, looking down because she could not finish. Murtasim sighed, understanding that her anxiety and fear were normal following the taruma she had experienced.
"I will never leave you. Stop crying", he said. When Meerab felt his intense gaze on her, she grinned and turned to face him. Her cheeks flushed as memories of the previous night raced through her head, making her feel shy. The last time they parted ways, there was no teasing glance or intense eye contact. Today, she feels shy under his gaze and wishes to hide somewhere so that he will stop staring at her. It appears as though he is undressing her with his eyes because of the way he is glancing at her.
"Why are you feeling shy? Yesterday you started and were..." he teased her, but she interrupted him in the middle because she knew what he was going to say. It was awkward for her to even consider that right now.
"Shameless" she said and in an effort to frighten him and stop him from making playful remarks, Meerab said, "Now I will not let you touch me then," but he persisted.
"Tumhara he nuksan hai. You have got such an handsome husband but it's ok if you want to keep distance. Be conscious as anybody can steal me",he replied
Because of his intense and intimate gaze, Meerab sternly warned, "I will burn your eyes if you looked at someone the way you look at me." She could not risk her husband showing the same level of love, admiration, and desire to someone else. Everything here is hers, and only hers. Murtasim laughed and kissed her forehead, and Meerab smiled because she enjoyed his pampering, kisses, and love. Then, as they heard footsteps, he covered her with the blanket and moved away, fearing that someone might approach. Murtasim rose from the bed and, after closing the door, returned.
"It must be difficult to dress me up again",she asked
"No, but it is important because anyone could have entered our room when I left," he explained, to which Meerab nodded and placed her head on his chest as he sat beside her. She felt reassured by Murtasim's gentle touch as he began to stroke her hair, bringing her comfort. He stood up again after a minute, picked up two cups of coffee, and approached her.
"Now have this ",he said giving her the cup of coffee. With a broad smile, Meerab began to sip her espresso, but when she noticed that he was also drinking coffee without sugar, it made her feel bad.
