Ashely's Pov.

Leaving the alley way and starting to walk home i felt a few people's stares after the episode that just occurred in the alleyway.

This is another thing i was used to in our town. Almost everyone knew your business. So most people by now knew i didn't follow the system. Therefore i had very little friends. Everyone thinks I'm a freak for not watching my clock, but i just want to choose who i love, not have it laid out for me.

I hopped up my front stairs and unlocked the door. The house was quiet which meant everyone was gone. So i ran, grabbed my laptop, and blared music through our small home. That is until my sister walked in the room.

"Can you turn that down?! I was napping!" She screamed.

"Shit! Sorry Zoe i completely forgot you were home this week!" I shouted back whilst turning down my music.

My sister Zoe was my polar opposite. She was proper, girly, and followed her clock religiously. The only thing we had in common was our height. Another thing was shes already met her partner. She hit zero about six months ago, and her and her match (some guy named Alfie i think) were married a month after that.

Her perfectness bothers me especially because my parents worship her and I'm always being compared.

"Thank you Ashley, and yeah i'm here but not for long, I'm going home tomorrow evening."

"Oh okay. Is all your stuff packed?"

"Yeah i packed most of it earlier. Thats why i was napping, and i better go finish. So i'll talk to you at dinner i have something to tell you mom and dad."

I shrugged. Zoe's surprises were never exciting ones so there was no anticipation at her words.

"Okay i think i might take a nap as well." I said sinking into my sheets.

I watched her walk out the door as i drifted into a blissful sleep.
