𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 he was born— screaming.

"AAAAAAH!"

Well, for a moment he had been confused, groggy even. His head hurt, it felt far too heavy for his body. After dying less than a week ago, he didn't want any more injuries.

Then he spotted the girl sitting in a chair next to him, staring at a dagger in her hand. He did the smart thing, he screamed.

In her surprise, the girl dropped her blade and Dante noticed his daggers on the table next to the bed he was in.

A million questions plagued him. Mainly, where the fuck was he? Who the fuck was this girl? Was she planning on stabbing him in his sleep? Why did his head hurt?

He had grabbed his dagger and in one swift move pushed the girl back with the blade to her throat. He slammed her into the wall, staring at her eyes. He couldn't point out their exact color, almost like they were ever changing. He could have sworn they were brown one second, then green, then yellowish—

"Who the fuck are you?"

"My name's Piper," She held up her hands in surrender, her eyes wide in fear.

She was pretty, really pretty. Dante would have to be blind to not see that. He wasn't into girls, but Piper's skin was darker than his, her hair soft brown, choppily cut. She wore a Hello Kitty tank top which made Dante snort.

"Where am I?"

"You're on the ship."

He still hadn't let her go. Who knew what she would do if he let her have her weapon again. The room was too cramped to have an actual fight.

"What ship?" He clenched his jaw, annoyance creeping into his expression.

"The Argo II, do you have brain damage? You got hit pretty hard with a brick," She sounded concerned, though Dante didn't buy it.

He thought back to before he passed out. He was going to kill Jason, he was so close. And then like an idiot he took  the brick to his head that was meant for Jason.

"You're Jason's girlfriend," Dante realized.

"Exactly, so back off," Came a new voice.

Cold metal pressed into Dante's side. From the corner of his eye he saw Jason with his golden sword in hand. Weapons usually made things more complicated, so Dante did in fact back off.

He stepped back and held up his hands with his daggers before placing them back on the table and picking up Piper's triangular blade from the floor and handing it to her.

"You," He fixed Jason with the worst look of loathing he could manage.

"You saved me," Jason said instead, the tension in his expression giving way to relief. He lowered his sword. "And sorry we essentially kidnapped you. We had no choice."

"You flew," Dante recalled, scowling. "You were flying, since when can you fly?"

Jason and Piper exchanged glances. Dante didn't like being on the outside of things, he didn't like not knowing what was going on. The room they were in was a small cabin with a wardrobe, a bed and a table. It was far more comfortable and advanced than he could have guessed from the outside.

"You didn't know I could fly?" Jason asked which seemed kind of a stupid question to Dante.

"I knew you could jump really high, use the winds to push back enemies and stuff. But not that you can fly. That's new."
